Shirley Louise (Inman) Morton

Shirley Louise (Inman) Morton was born on November 24, 1933 in Salem, Missouri to Donald Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Fox) Inman and departed this life on November 15, 2021 in High Point, Missouri at the age of eighty-seven years. Shirley was united in marriage to Bob Morton on November 12, 1954 in Salem and together shared fifty-eight years of memories before Bob's passing on December 26, 2012. Shirley and Bob were blessed with one son, Jim. Shirley's working career started with International Shoe Factory, later going to work at Hagale's Garment Factory. In time, she began working in the office of her husband's TV repair shop and eventually working together at their family business, Morton Realty, where Bob sold real estate and Shirley was his assistant. Shirley enjoyed sewing and crocheting beautiful afghans in her spare time. She was a wonderful cook and made the best mashed potatoes and chicken and dumplings. Shirley loved having family and friends gather around her table for delicious meals and a nice conversation. She was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in caring for her family and tending to her immaculate home. Shirley loved her family and treasured time spent with them. She especially adored her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, they were her pride and joy. Shirley was a dedicated and longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Salem. Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memories, loving son: Jim Morton of High Point, MO; three granddaughters: Mandy Henry and husband Ryan of Jefferson City, MO, Melanie Porter and husband Doug of High Point, MO, and Marie Raychel Fulks and husband Kyle of High Point, MO; twelve great-grandchildren: Trey Porter, Trevor Porter, Paige Henry, Tristan Porter, Trishelle Porter, Zach Henry, Alyssa Henry, Treagan Porter, Trynleigh Porter, Kaiden Fulks, Everett Fulks, and Grayson Fulks; siblings: Perry Inman and wife Verna Lou of Salem, MO, Virginia Wisdom and husband Vardell of Boss, MO, Sharon Bergner and husband David of Salem, MO, and Judy Parker of Salem, MO; ex-daughter-in-law: Jan Morton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Bob Morton; parents: Donald "Bus" and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Inman; brothers: Leonard, Junior, and Larry Inman. Shirley will be remembered for her kind heart and sweet personality. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Shirley Louise (Inman) Morton were held Saturday, November 20, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Larry Nash officiating. Special music was provided by her great-grandchildren singing “Amazing Grace” and additional song selections played were “I Can Only Imagine”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, and “Bye Mom”. Serving as Pallbearers were Trey Porter, Trevor Porter, Zach Henry, Doug Porter, Ryan Henry, and Kyle Fulks. Honorary Pallbearers were Kaiden Fulks, Everett Fulks, and Grayson Fulks. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
