Stephen K. Dobbins

Stephen K. Dobbins (Ret. USA) aka Johannes Otto Peimann was born on November 20, 1953 in Buxtehude, Germany to Otto Franz Peimann and Irmgard (Jeckstadt) Peimann. At the age of 8, Stephen came to the United States and was fostered by Dr. John Potter Dobbins and Violet (Norrman) Dobbins until his initial induction into the Military in 1975. He married Sandy on July 18, 1998. He passed on September 26, 2019 at his home at the age of sixty-five years. Stephen served over twenty years in the military completing his service as an IT Systems Manager at Camp San Luis Obispo, California. He continued using his skills as an independent contractor until his passing. His talents were endless, Stephen could do anything from complex computer designs and programs to laying bricks and every talent in-between. Stephen's greatest joy was spending time with his family. Stephen cherished his time spent with his boys and grandchildren. His fondest memories were fly fishing with them on the Current River. He also loved traveling with Sandy in their RV with their dogs and had a passion for woodworking. He often complained about (but secretly enjoyed) any construction project on his honey-do-list. This list also included helping his wife and the ladies of Salem United Methodist Church with the annual Church Bazaar. Preceding him in death were his four parents: Otto, Irmgard, John and Violet Stephen is survived by his loving wife: Sandy Dobbins of Salem, MO; two sons: Trevor Dobbins and wife Olivia of Punxsutawney, PA and Scott Dobbins and wife Faleasha of Punxsutawney, PA; four grandchildren: Austin, Travis, Madysen and Emily; six siblings: Dorothea Scarcelli and husband Mario of Germany, Karl-Heinz Peimann and wife Heika of Germany, Klaus Peimann and wife Rita of Germany, John Dobbins and wife Anne of Pasadena, CA, Michele Thomas of Glendale, CA and Deborah Childs and husband Rick of Palmdale, CA; nephews: Stefano and Mathias; niece: Steffi and husband Flo; brother-in-law: Doug Croft and wife Eva of Paso Robles, CA; uncle: Ernie Norrman of Chicago; special friends: Gary and Lacy Silveira, Josh Kaffer,Terri and Mike Baldwin; Jeff and Denise Shank; Patty and Mike Campbell; extended relatives, military family and friends. Stephen was a devoted husband, loving father and a caring grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2019 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Full Military Honors. All arrangements are under the direction and care of Wilson Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Stephen Dobbins to the Lovepack Backpack Program or Healing Waters Fly Fishing and left at Wilson Mortuary.
