Sudie Mae (Turner) Williams

Sudie Mae (Turner) Williams was born on December 25, 1939, in Rat, Missouri to Arthur and Bessie (Foster) Turner and passed away on December 17, 2019, in Salem, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years. Sudie Mae grew on the family farm in Shannon County, Missouri. On July 16, 1955 she married the love of her life, Leroy Williams, in Bunker, Missouri and together they shared sixty-four years of marriage and were blessed with one son, Carl Williams. Sudie Mae took great pride in caring for her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time in her kitchen cooking and was known for her fried chicken. Sudie Mae also worked as a dietician supervisor for thirteen years at Seville Care Center; she loved and cared for the residents and staff there. Sudie Mae was a member of Little Vine Church in Bunker, Missouri for forty-five years before joining First Baptist Church Salem. She enjoyed the fellowship with her church family. Sudie Mae loved the outdoors, she enjoyed gardening and watching the flowers bloom. Scrapbooking and stamp collecting were her favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed digging into her family history and was known as the family genealogist. Most of all, Sudie Mae cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sudie Mae is survived by her loving husband Leroy Williams of the home; son: Carl Williams and wife Missy of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Brooke Williams and husband Francis Ekechi of St. Louis, MO, Corey Williams and wife Trisha of Leiden, Netherlands, Jeff Daboin and wife Nicole of Hershey, PA, and Buddy Daboin and fiancé Shae Sharpe of Branson, MO; five great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceding her in death were, her parents: Arthur and Bessie (Foster) Turner; four brothers: Willard Turner, Wallace Turner, Layard Turner, and Paul Turner. Sudie Mae will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Sudie Mae Williams were held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chuck Henderson officiating. Rick Smith provided special music and song selections played were "Amazing Grace" and "Because He Lives". Serving as pallbearers were Buddy Daboin, Danny Turner, Paul Heithold, Mark Huitt, Merle Alderson, and Rick Smith. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem.
