Susan Diane (Quinlisk) Swyers

Susan Diane (Quinlisk) Swyers, the daughter of James and Dolores (Hill) Quinlisk, was born December 11, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri. She passed away July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Salem, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years. Susan was united in marriage to Greig Warner Swyers on August 23, 1985, in Steelville, Missouri. During their forty years together, they were blessed with six children: Jennifer, Deborah, Marlene, David, Andrew, and Branden; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Susan enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting the slot machines, strolling the beach, drinking margaritas, dancing, and watching the Blue’s Hockey games. She liked going to the lake and spending time tanning on the boat. A free spirit, Susan had a lifelong love for country music artist Blake Shelton, often filling her home and heart with his music and attending live concerts. Family was at the heart of Susan’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, pouring love into their lives. They were her true pride and joy. Her faith was also important to her and her kind heart shined brightly. Susan is survived by her loving husband: Greig Swyers of Salem, MO; children: Jennifer Terbrock of St. Louis, MO, Deborah Kast and husband Dennis of St. Louis, MO, Marlene Korte of Salem, MO, David Dillon and wife Melynda of Salem, MO, Andrew Swyers of St. Louis, MO, and Branden Swyers and wife Brittany of Moscow Mills, MO; brother: James Quinlisk and wife Beth of O’Fallon, MO; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: James and Dolores (Hill) Quinlisk; and her sisters: Kathleen Purington, Margaret Merry, and Deborah Johndrow. Susan was known for her loud outspoken nature and big personality. She was a spitfire and approached life with an adventurous heart. Her presence filled the room. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be forever missed. Funeral Services for Susan Diane (Quinlisk) Swyers were held Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Tim Hill officiating. Special Music was provided and additional song selections played were “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, “Saviors Shadow”, and “Ave Maria”. Serving as Pallbearers were Andrew Swyers, Branden Swyers, David Dillon, Dylan Kast, Logan Swyers, Aidan Terborck, and Dylan Kast. Burial was in the Sligo Cemetery.
