Tanya Marie Lackey

Tanya Marie Lackey was born on September 11, 1974, in Sullivan, Missouri, to Rose Marie Whitley. She was raised in St. Clair and attended St. Clair High School. Tanya worked at Chris Kaye Plastics in Union and was a valued employee for several years until her health no longer allowed her to work. Tanya's favorite hobby was making diamond art and she created beautiful pieces with her creative and talented hands. She loved listening to music by George Jones and she also liked Harley Davidson and collecting memorabilia. Tanya had a big heart filled with compassion, love, and kindness. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Tanya was a devoted mother, adoring grandma, dedicated daughter, caring sister, fun aunt, and trusted friend. She treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandson Kody, who was her pride and joy. Tanya departed this life on August 14, 2022, in Columbia, Missouri at the age of forty-seven years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son: Kyle Lackey and girlfriend Carly of Rolla, MO; daughter: Lacy Kelley and boyfriend Samuel of Fredericktown, MO; siblings: Nicky Stringer of Salem, MO, Amanda Head and husband Charles of Salem, MO, Tabitha Stringer and boyfriend Ronnie of Salem, MO, Renee Martin and husband Josh of Cherryville, MO, Bryan Lackey of St. Clair, MO, Matthew Lackey of St. Clair, MO, and Wes Whitley of Sullivan, MO; father: Kenny Stringer of St. Clair, MO; grandchildren: Kody, Kora, Cloe, Carson, and Oliver; nieces and nephews: Tucker, Paradyce, Logan, Chandler, Sebastian, Jordan, Brianna, Damion, Cheyenne, Johnathon, Daniel, Dakota, Kayshie, and Colton; aunt: Rose Arnold and husband Connie of St. Clair, MO; special cousin: Sandy Banderman and husband Davey of St. Clair, MO; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, mother: Rose Marie Whitley; grandmother: Mary Whitley; Grandfather: Wesley Whitley; nephews: Zander Head and Jacob Martin; and cousins: Corina "Bop" Wilken and Dustin Downey; and many aunts, uncles, and relatives. Tanya will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be forever missed. Funeral Services for Tanya Marie Lackey were held Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “Dancing In The Sky”, “Sissy’s Song”, and “Give Heaven Some Hell”. Serving as Pallbearers were Tucker Stringer, Charlie Head, Kenny Stringer, Cory Higgs, Kyle Lackey, and Nicky Stringer. Honorary Pallbearers were Paradyce Stringer, Kody Lackey, Chandler Head, Bryan Lackey, and Danny Benton. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Tanya Lackey and left with Wilson Mortuary.
