Thelma Louise (Hartzell) Miner

Thelma (Hartzell) Miner was born on Thursday, June 17, 1937, in Leadwood, Missouri, to John Wesley Hartzell and Fannie Adeline (Reynolds) Hartzell. She passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026. On Saturday, October 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to her beloved, Plumas "Sunny" Miner, in Leadwood, Missouri. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, and family. Thelma was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. She thought frogs were cute and love to collect them; she had trinkets galore, at one point Sunny told her she wasn’t allowed to buy anymore, so everyone else just bought them for her. She was a great cook, her fried chicken would give anyone a run for their money, and let’s not forget the banana pudding and blackberry cobbler. Walking through the door gave you an instant feeling of home; the sound of rolling dice and laughter emanating from a fierce game of Yahtzee at the kitchen table with a Western playing on the TV as background noise. Her home was so full of love, joy, kindness and laughter. But above all else, she cherished her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Preceding her in death were her parents; loving husband: Plumas “Sunny” Miner; son: Wesley Berdine Miner; three infant children; brothers, Melvin Hartzell, Larry Hartzell, Billy Hartzell; sisters: Josephine (Hartzell) Norton, Ruth (Hartzell) Turner, Helen (Hartzell) Miner; sons-in-law: Joseph Miles and William Selle; great grandchildren: Greyson Miles and Aaron Miner; and a great-great grandchild: Isaac Miner. Thelma is survived by her by five children: Kathryn (Marc) Soehlig of Boss, Marienne Miles of St. Charles, Dennis (Debbie) Miner of Hillsboro, Eugenia Selle of Boss, Adalyn (Brett) Schuepbach of Hillsboro; eighteen grandchildren: Bill Swaller, Jay Swaller, Sonny Swaller, James Crowe, Rob Crowe, Joe Miles, Elisha Oldenburg, Denise Wagner, Jessica Dora, Dennis Miner Jr., Robby Selle, Shelly Busbey, Travis Selle, Starr Barnes, Ramsey Hoffman, Tim Schuepbach, Keith Schuepbach, and Savannah Schuepbach; as well as thirty-six great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She was loved and treasured by many and will be greatly missed. Funeral Services were held July 2, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were William Swaller, Jeremiah Swaller, Plumas Swaller, James Crowe, Rob Crowe, Joe Miles, Travis Selle, Robbie Selle, Ramsey Hoffman, Timothy Schuepbach, and Keith Schuepbach.
