Theresa Annette (Tracy) Shurtleff

Theresa Annette (Tracy) Shurtleff was born December 16, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of Raymond and Norma (Lee) Tracy. She grew up and attended school in Carrollton, Texas before making Missouri her home. Theresa was blessed with three sons: Michael, James, and Nathan. She was a proud mother and even prouder grandmother. She cherished the time spent and memories made with her family, especially with her grandchildren. Theresa was united in marriage to Richard Lee “Dick” Shurtleff and together they shared many years of memories before his passing on April 18, 2015. Family was her first priority, and she had a passion for family genealogy and ancestry. Theresa managed the Texaco Service Station in Buckhorn for many years. Prior to her time there, she was at the Phillips 66 Station in Stoutland. She was a hard worker and always enjoyed visiting with friends and customers. In her spare time, she loved being outside and porch sitting. Theresa departed this life January 10, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years. Those left behind to treasure her memory include her loving sons: Michael Polvado and wife Kacee of Texas, James W. Maness of Richland, MO, and Nathan Maness and wife Ashley of Richland, MO; siblings: Robert Tracy, Judith Smith, Cindy Herndon, Walter Tracy, and Larry Tracy; grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her loving husband: Richard Shurtleff; parents: Raymond and Norma (Lee) Tracy; sister: Shirley Fancher; and stepdaughter: Jessica Shurtleff. Above all her faith and family were most important to her. Her legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Theresa will be forever missed. Celebration of Life for Theresa Annette (Tracy) Shurtleff was held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Berean Baptist Church, Waynesville, Missouri, with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selection played was “Dancing In The Sky”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
