Tommy Edward Lowe

Tommy Edward Lowe was born on January 17, 1941 to Paul and Sarah (Taylor) Lowe in Jefferson City, Tennessee and passed away November 11, 2019, at the age of seventy-eight years. As a young boy, Tommy grew up in Jefferson City, Tennessee. On October 18, 1958, Tommy was united in marriage to Mary Ellen (Ladd) Lowe and to this union four children were born. Tommy's job with the mines caused the family to move to Salem, Missouri in 1965. He was proud of his years spent with Cominco Lead Mines and attained the position of Mining Supervisor. Tommy was also Captain of the Mine Rescue Team and won top honors in the National Contest in Las Vegas. In his spare time, Tommy enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing and spending time at the lake. He and Mary also liked to travel with friends and going to Las Vegas. He greatest accomplishment was his family. Tommy loved Mary deeply and shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life. He treasured his family and cherished time spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Tommy is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen Lowe; his parents: Paul and Sarah Lowe; father and mother in law: Tom and Elizabeth Ladd; sister: Gladys Lowe; brothers: Kenneth and Joe Lowe; son: Jeffery Lowe; and son in law: Randy Schafer. Tommy is survived by his children: Ronnie Lowe and wife Becky of Lake Jackson, TX, Liz Herndon and husband Bob of Salem, MO, and Susan Schafer and Steve McCauley of Ozark, MO; grandchildren: Travis Hutchens, Sarah Lopez, Cathy Kreissler, Jennifer Heflin, Jeffery Herndon, Kris Schafer, and Tommy Schafer; brothers, Robert Lowe and wife Bobbie of Jefferson City, TN, Walter Lowe and wife Brenda of Jefferson City, TN, and David Lowe and wife Linda of Jefferson City, TN; as well as several great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Tommy was a devoted husband, loving father and a caring grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Service for Tommy Edward Lowe was held Friday, November 15, 2019 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Billy Miller officiating. Jennifer Heflin shared the Eulogy and song selections played were, "Amazing Grace", "Even Though I'm Leaving", "Lead Me Home" and "This Ole House". Serving as Pallbearers were: Tommy Schafer, Kris Schafer, John Nolan, Jamey Kreissler, Clayton Kreissler, and Derick Heflin. Honorary Pallbearers were: Jeffery Herndon and Travis Hutchens. Burial was in the Gladden Empire Cemetery. All arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
