Vardel Ray Wisdom

Vardel Ray Wisdom was born March 27, 1934, in Boss, Missouri. He was one of two sons born to Gurney and Lola (Clements) Wisdom. He grew up on the family farm in Boss and graduated with the class of 1952 from Caledonia High School. On March 23, 1956, in Holy Springs, Mississippi, Vardel was united in marriage to the love of his life, Yvonnie “Virginia” Inman. Vardel and Virginia shared nearly sixty-nine years of marriage, building a family and creating lasting memories together. They were blessed with one son, Vince. Vardel started his working career at the Grocery and Feed Store his parents owned. He then started working in the forestry service, setting fires to local fields, before starting in the mining industry with St. Joe Minerals. Vardel retired from Cominco Mines. One of his true passions was farming. He loved being out in the fields on his tractor, bailing hay, and watching cattle. His family meant the world to him. He adored his grandchildren and treasured his great-grandchildren. Most important to him was his faith in the Lord. Vardel enjoyed attending Macedonia United Baptist Church. Vardel entered eternal rest March 1, 2025, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of ninety years. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his loving wife Virginia Wisdom of Boss, MO; son: Vince Wisdom and wife Cindy of Boss, MO; grandchildren: Aimee Garrison and husband Heath of Boss, MO and Teel Wisdom and wife Richelle of Salem, MO; great-grandchildren: Kaden, Kallen, Kohen, Kynlee, and Reed; as well as several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Gurney and Lola (Clements) Wisdom and brother: Kelzie Wisdom. Vardel will be forever remembered for his sweet spirit and tender soul. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Vardel Ray Wisdom were held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Macedonia United Baptist Church, Boss, Missouri, with Pastor Heath Garrison officiating. Special Music was provided by his loving family. Serving as Pallbearers were Teel Wisdom, Heath Garrison, Brad Jackson, and his loving grandchildren Kaden, Kallen, Kohen, reed, and Kynlee. Burial was in the Boss Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Vardel Wisdom to the Boss Cemetery Fund and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
