William Edward Burke Jr

William Edward Burke Jr. was born July 28, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was one of three children born to William Sr. and Beverly (Guess) Burke. William grew up in Salem, Missouri, and graduated from Salem High School. He later furthered his education at Rolla Technical Institute and obtained his certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse. On December 8, 1990, William was united in marriage to the love of his life, Luretta “Buzz” Kaffer. They were blessed to share thirty-four years of lasting memories together. William was the proud father of four children: Joshua, Christina, William III, and Paul. William truly loved his career as an L.P.N. and found lifelong satisfaction in caring for his patients and aiding them in their ability to improve their quality of life. He has worked at several nursing homes including Salem Care Center for many years. William had great love for his family and enjoyed creating memories with them. His children and grandchildren were his world. He had a passion for hunting and loved spending time outdoors. William was a history buff and enjoyed reading autobiographies, especially on Kennedy and Lincoln. He also enjoyed watching World Wrestling Entertainment. William was a man of great faith. He enjoyed attending church with his mother when he was younger. He often attended Salem Full Gospel and Salem Faith Assembly. William entered eternal rest March 15, 2024, while visiting his daughter in Florida, at the age of fifty-six years. He leaves behind to carry on his legacy his loving wife: Luretta “Buzz” Burke of Salem, MO; children: Christina Nall and husband Matthew of Florida, William Burke III of Salem, MO, Paul Burke of Salem, MO, and Joshua Stanfast and wife Rebekah; sister: Toni McAllistar and husband Kevin; grandchildren: Jakobi and Zeke Nall, and Rhea Stanfast; other relatives and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: William Sr. and Beverly Burke and sister: Angela Jordan. William will be fondly remembered for his warm smile, his generous and giving nature, his dedication to his job, and great love for his family. He will be forever missed. Funeral Services for William Edward Burke Jr. were held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Bill Stack and Pastor Billy Anderson officiating. The eulogy was shared by his daughter Christina. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace”, “The Dance”, “Forever and Ever, Amen”, and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Serving as Pallbearers were William Burke III, Matthew Nall, Matthew Jordan, Ricky Kaffer, Billy Kaffer, and Danny Vannasdall. Honorary Pallbearers were Jakobi Nall and Paul Burke.
