Bonnie Sue (Reeves) McGuirt was born on July 2, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert Paul and Joyce (Kelsoe) Reeves. She grew up and attended school in Pocahontas, Arkansas and furthered her education obtaining her Medical Assistant certificate. Bonnie was a hard worker and took great pride in caring for her patients; she loved them, and they loved her back. Throughout her working career, Bonnie worked for Salem Memorial District Hospital as a patient caretaker and worked for hospice. Bonnie had also owned a beauty shop, A Cut Above, for many years and enjoyed taking care of her clients. Bonnie was united in marriage to the love of her life and cowboy, Christopher Lee McGuirt on July 7, 1979 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and together shared forty-one years of memories. Bonnie and Chris were blessed with two children: Crystal and Brandon and later blessed with five grandchildren: Peyton, Kylie, Marlee, Kensie, and Jarrah. Time with family, especially her grandchildren, were most important to her. Bonnie cherished family gatherings and treasured spending time and making memories with her grandchildren. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed visiting nurseries and picking out plants for her home. She had a remarkable green thumb and was an avid gardener. She loved plants, flowers, and making her garden look nice. Bonnie took pleasure in growing fresh vegetables and sharing her bounty. Bonnie was a tireless warrior for Christ and offered the truth of His Salvation to everyone she met. She helped lead many of her patients to the Lord and had a heart that burned while sharing the gospel. Bonnie was a true prayer warrior with a servant’s heart and a passion for helping others. She was a long-time member of the Pentecostal Church of God and enjoyed singing during the worship service, preaching, and teaching Sunday School. Bonnie passed away on April 21, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home in Salem, Missouri at the age of sixty-three years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband Chris McGuirt of the home; children: Crystal Thielemier and husband Dale of Arkansas and Brandon McGuirt of Salem, MO; mother: Joyce Reeves of Arkansas; brother: Dwayne Reeves and wife Corda of Arkansas; sisters: Rita Green and husband Randy of Arkansas and Carla Wilkinson and husband Jeff of Arkansas; grandchildren: Peyton McGuirt, Kylie Thielemier, Marlee McGuirt, Kensie Thielemier, and Jarrah McGuirt; father and mother-in-law: Milton and Dorsey McGuirt of Arkansas; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Bonnie is preceded in death by, father: Robert Reeves and grandparents: Robert and Laura Reeves and Henry and Alice Kelsoe. Bonnie was a sweet lady and friend to many. She was an incredibly strong woman and leaves behind a great legacy to her family of God’s amazing love, grace, and faithfulness. Bonnie was an example to all who knew her, she will be forever missed. Funeral Services for Bonnie Sue (Reeves) McGuirt were held Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Reeves, Pastor Veronica Lato, and Rev. Steve Burton officiating. Special Music was provided by Linda Skaggs singing “Roses Will Bloom Again”, “There’ll Be No Graves”, and “In My Robe of White”; additional song selections played were “It’s Your Love” and “The Baby”. Serving as Pallbearers were Eric Bibb, Kevin McGuirt, Bradley Reeves, Ryan Reeves, Brandon Chandler, and Tyler Reeves. Honorary Pallbearers were Randy Green and Dale Thielemier.
