Charles "Charlie" Edward Plank Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles “Charlie” Edward Plank was born December 2, 1942 to John William “Bill” and Estellle (Smith) Plank. He was raised in the Salem area and graduated from Bunker High School with the class of 1960. Charlie was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Brenda Lee Alexander, on November 28, 1963 in Salem, Missouri and together blessed with fifty-four wonderful years of marriage. He was blessed with two sons, Dennis and Mike. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and hard worker. He truly loved working on the farm where he raised feeder pigs, hogs, and worked cattle. Charlie was passionate about hunting, especially coons, deer, rabbit, and quail. He enjoyed many of those times with his sons. Charlie spent much of his free time fishing and camping. Charlie was one of a kind and a joy to be around. He was a great storyteller with a strong sense of humor. Charlie valued spending time with his family and making memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlie was a man of faith, he was saved and baptized, and attended Liberty Baptist Church. Charlie was a member of the Ozark Mountain Coon Hunter Association and Missouri State Coon Hunter Association where he served as president. Charlie departed this life September 29, 2021 in Salem, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, sons: Dennis Plank of Salem, MO and Mike Plank and wife Penny of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Ethan Plank, Ashtyn Plank and fiancé Tyler Buehrle, Joshua Plank, and Julia Plank-Norris and husband Tylor; great-grandchildren: Ryker, Charlie, and Azalea; sister-in-law: Pat Barnes; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death, wife: Brenda Plank; parents: John “Bill” and Estel Plank; his siblings. Charlie will be remembered for his friendly smile and mischievous face. His memories will on in the lives he touched along the way. Memorial Services for Charles “Charlie” Edward Plank were held Monday, October 4, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Lyndell Decker officiating. Song selection played was “Scars In Heaven”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
