Christine Marie (Smith) Sanders was born October 28, 1961, in St. Louis, Illinois to Gerold Lee and Phyllis Sue (Ridenhour) Smith Sr. Chris grew up in her parents loving home and attended school at Cherryville and Viburnum. Chris was a dedicated mother and grandmother first and foremost. She was sweet and caring, strong-willed and decisive, and always a helper. Chris took great pride in caring for her home and family. She treasured her children and especially loved and adored her grandchildren. Chris truly valued time spent with her loved ones and cherished each memory. Chris enjoyed her beautiful flower beds and growing vegetables in her garden. She was a great cook and she loved having her family gather around her table. Chris loved being outdoors and could often be found fishing at the Gasconade River. She liked to dance, laugh, and made friends everywhere she went. Chris attended Hope Church of Viburnum. Chris departed this life on April 10, 2022, in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of sixty years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, loving children: Dave Gibson Jr. and wife Angela of Millersburg, MO, Raina Young and husband Jonathan of Viburnum, MO, and Andy Gibson and wife Kaci of Camdenton, MO; husband: Daniel Sanders of Davisville, MO; siblings: Gerold Smith Jr. and wife Lavonda of Viburnum, MO, Kim Smith of Cherryville, MO, and Cathy Pyeatt and husband Wayne of Potosi, MO; grandchildren: Riana, Three, Jonny, Kannon, Willow, Brayden, AJ, Carter, and Everett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, parents: Butch and Phyllis Smith; and infant brother: Daniel Smith. Chris was kind-hearted and a mother to everyone she met. She will be missed greatly by her loving family and dear friends. Funeral Services for Christine Marie (Smith) Sanders were held Friday, April 15, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with Pastor Kelly Eaton officiating. Andy Gibson shared special memories. Song selections played were “Song for Mama” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Serving as Pallbearers were Dave Gibson, Kannon Gibson, Jonny Young, Dan Sanders, Andy Gibson, A.J. Gibson, Brayden Young, and Wayne Pyeatt. Honorary Pallbearers were Jon Young, Everett Gibson, Three Gibson, Riana Young, Carter Gibson, and Willow Gibson. Burial was in the Sellers Cemetery, Davisville, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Viburnum, Missouri.
