Daniel "Danny" Glenn Skaggs

Daniel “Danny” Glenn Skaggs was born June 3, 1955, in Salem, Missouri to Rayborn and Dessie (Parker) Skaggs. He grew up in Bunker, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1973 from Bunker High School. After high school, Danny started his forty-two year working career with Pioneer Forest marking timber. On December 29, 1978 Danny was united in marriage to Doris Lynn Wells. They were blessed with three children: Gary, Rachel, and Hannah and later blessed with eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Danny and Doris shared together forty-four years of marriage. Danny worked hard to provide for his family and raise his children. After retiring in 2016, Danny devoted his time to his farm and cattle. He enjoyed traveling, making cow and bull buying trips as well as always having a border collie. His favorite movies were westerns, especially “Lonesome Dove,” which him and his brother, David, would often quote. He loved vacationing in the mountains and being in nature. Danny was a man of faith and member of Ohlman Baptist Church where he enjoyed spending time with his church family. Danny entered into eternal rest February 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Salem, Missouri at the age of sixty-seven years. He is survived by his wife: Doris Skaggs of Salem, MO, children: Gary Skaggs and wife Shelley of Bunker, MO, Rachel Gore and husband Garrett of Ellington, MO, and Hannah Ball and husband Max of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Jacey, Jory, and Jayton Skaggs, Laura, Brett, and Lindsay Gore, and Grace and Walker Ball; great-grandchild: Henley Ritter; extended family and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Rayborn and Dessie Skaggs. Danny was one of a kind and leaves behind a great legacy and lasting memories. He will be forever missed by those who loved him most. Private Graveside Services for Daniel “Danny” Glenn Skaggs were held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Miner Cemetery with Bro. Terry Sharpe officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Danny Skaggs to the Ohlman Church Building Fund and left at Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
