Gene Larry "Tiger" Acuff

Gene Larry “Tiger” Acuff was born on December 26, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri to Eugene and Virginia (Sloan) Acuff and passed away on September 15, 2020, in Salem, Missouri at the age of forty-seven years. Gene, known to many as Tiger, was born and raised in the St. Louis area. During his working years, he was employed with US Foods as a truckdriver, he enjoyed traveling the open road until he was no longer able. Tiger was blessed to be the father of four children: Justin, Jasmine, Josh, and Peyton. He was a dedicated father and took great pride in caring for his family. Tiger was truly a family man and was especially proud of his children and loved his two grandchildren. Tiger was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to be in the wood’s deer hunting and by the river fishing. Spending time in Florida, running his boat out in the ocean was one of his favorite memories. Tiger was a proud American, he enjoyed a spirited debate and didn’t mind a good argument. Tiger is survived by his, loving children: Justin Palecki of Cuba, MO, Jasmine Werley of Sullivan, MO, Josh Palecki and wife Angel of Cherryville, MO, Peyton Acuff of Florida, Justine Baumgartner of St. Louis, MO, and Jacob Smith of Cuba, MO; siblings: Jimmy Acuff of St. Louis, MO, Patrick Acuff of Cuba, MO, Eugene Acuff of St. Louis, MO, and Virginia King of Cuba, MO; special friends: Tommy and Tabetha Shaw of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Camdyn Werley and Mya Palecki; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents Eugene and Virginia Acuff. Tiger will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Gene “Tiger” Larry Acuff were held Saturday, September 19, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Lyndell Decker officiating. Song selections played were “The Rose”, “One Wing In The Fire”, and “Lead Me Home”. Serving as Pallbearers were Justin Palecki, Josh Palecki, Patrick Acuff, Eugene Acuff, Raymond Quick, and David Hill. Honorary Pallbearers were Tommy Shaw and Jacob Smith. Burial was in the Shaw Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
