Harry Cheatham

Harry Cheatham was born April 25, 1949 in Parkin, Arkansas to J.W. and Maggie (Bailey) Cheatham. He grew up in Rockford, Illinois and attended Auburn High School. Harry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lynda, on August 8, 1986 in Rockford, Illinois and together they shared thirty-five years of love and memories. Harry and Lynda were blessed to share four children: Jay, Chris, Jill, and Todd. He was a devoted husband and wonderful father. Harry was a hard worker and a dedicated employee for Rockford Blacktop Company for twenty-seven years until his retirement when he was fifty-three old. He was a member of Central Laborers Union. Harry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time at their cabin on Lake Wisconsin and taking his pontoon out for a day on the water. Harry and Lynda loved to travel the country and explore the U.S. in their motor home. Harry's greatest treasure was his family and nothing brought him greater joy than the time he spent with them. Harry departed this life on November 17, 2021 in Salem, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his loving wife Lynda Cheatham of the home; children: Jay Cavanna and wife Lisa of Elk River, MN, Chris Cheatham and wife Lorissa of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jill Bradley and husband Jerry of Booneville, AR, and Todd Cheatham of Lena, IL; grandchildren: Emily Morgan and husband Chris, Nick Cheatham, Logan Bradley, Alex Cheatham, and Jacob Cheatham; brother: Jay Cheatham; special uncle: Bill "Doyle" Cheatham and wife Judy of Salem, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death, parents: J. W. and Maggie Cheatham; siblings: Patricia Watola, Bill Bailey, Glen Bailey, Sherman Cheatham, and Roy Cheatham. Harry will be remembered as a good natured, hard working, loyal family man. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. Celebration of Life for Harry Cheatham was held Wednesday, November 4, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Dr. Herman Blau officiating.
