Jennifer "Jenny" Ann (Carmier) Summers Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jennifer "Jenny" Ann (Carmier) Summers was born June 22, 1987, in Columbia, Missouri, to Stewart and Karen (Whitmire) Carmier. She grew up in Salem and graduated with the class of 2006 from Salem High School. Jenny furthered her education with Central Methodist University. Jenny was blessed with twins, Aiden and Addyson. As a proud mother, Jenny especially enjoyed attending school and sports events. Her children were her greatest joy and she was their biggest cheerleader being ever present in their daily lives. Jenny was easy going and never met a stranger, she was always ready with a smile or to lend a helping hand. Jenny worked as a paraprofessional at the Salem R-80 School District. She had a special place in her heart for special needs children and loved to work with them. Jenny touched many lives and always encouraged others. Her passion for children and love of sports, led her to coach the Jr. High Cheerleaders. Jenny was warm, welcoming, compassionate, loving, upbeat, and kind-hearted. She had a positive outlook on life and strong faith in God. Jenny was a dedicated member of the Salem United Methodist Church. She served on the church board, taught Sunday School, and helped with Vacation Bible School. Jenny was a great asset to the community and co-founder of Grace Harbor Homeless Shelter. Jenny departed this life July 18, 2022 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of thirty-five years. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Aiden Summers and Addyson Summers of Salem, MO; parents: Stewart and Karen Carmier of Salem, MO; brother: Drew Carmier and wife Meredith of Bend, OR; grandmother: Shirley Whitmire of Salem, MO; aunts and uncles: Chuck Whitmire and wife Alhesha of Rolla, MO, Darlene Blankenship of Salem, MO, and Bruce Carmier and wife Patti of Viburnum, MO; as well as a host of cousins, extended relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, grandparents: Charles Whitmire, Bud and Doreen Carmier; and uncle: Brian Carmier. Jenny was a beautiful lady; she always had a smile on her face and personality that would light up a room. She was well loved and respected and will be greatly missed. Funeral Services for Jennifer Ann (Carmier) Summers were held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Barry Baugh and Chuck Whitmire officiating. Special music was provided by Becky Smith, Joni Bobbitt, and Micah Bobbitt singing “Amazing Grace” and “Scars in Heaven” with pianist Catherine Dent. Serving as Pallbearers were Drew Carmier, Kyle Whitmire, Ryan Whitmire, Ashley Sullins, Kristie Parker, and Aimee Whitmire. Honorary Pallbearers were Aiden Summers, Addyson Summers, and Tyler Whitmire. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Jenny Summers to Grace Harbor Homeless Shelter and left at Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
