Jerry "Jim" Morris

Jerry Jim Morris was born January 9, 1935 in Texhoma, Oklahoma to Joseph Oscar and Harriette Ellen (Rhoden) Morris and passed away July 2, 2018 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years. On October 18, 1981, Jerry was united in marriage to Beverley Sue Anderson. Jim, as he was fondly known, served as a minister for many years and loved to fish, loved music and in his earlier years enjoyed horses. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Altha Mae Morris and Clara Jo Shorb. Survivors include his wife, Beverley, of the home in St. James; daughters, Jerri Newton and husband, Jim, St. James; Vicki Morris, Rogers, Arkansas; sisters, Roeann Gibson, Norman, Oklahoma; Julia Hamner, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandson, Joshua Newton, Springfield; and many other extended family and friends. Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral service for Jerry Jim Morris was held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the St. James First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Mick Thrasher officiating. Memories were shared by sister, Julia Hamner and special music was provided by Doyle Hobson and Sherry Hathaway. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Newton, Joshua Newton, Rodger Anderson, Ronald Anderson, Brian Andrews and J.R. Meadows. Honorary pallbearers were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Keeney. Interment was in the Corinth Cemetery in Salem, Missouri. All arrangements under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem.
