Jessie Olen Gordon Jr. was born on November 6, 1942, in Phillipsburg, Missouri and was the only child born to Jessie Olen Sr. and Anna Lorene (Caffey) Gordon. He grew up in Devils Elbow, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1956 from Waynesville High School. Jessie was united in marriage on January 11, 1964 to the love of his life, Mary Annalou Delong. Jessie and Annalou were devoted to each other and shared the last fifty-eight years of memories together. They were blessed with two daughters: Cristal and Teresa. Jessie was a dedicated family man who worked hard to provide for his family and support them in every way. He worked for the Missouri Highway Department and retired after twenty years of dedication. After retirement, Jessie started driving a dump truck for Randolph. Being an entrepreneur at heart Jessie and Annalou were owner/operator of Speedy’s Food Mart and also owned and operated Gordon’s Small Engine Repair. Jessie was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting in the natural forest with his brother-in-law, Dale. Jessie and Annalou loved to go camping and would spend every summer at the Red Oak Resort in Camdenton. He was a good-hearted man who loved life and loved his family. Jessie treasured his grandchildren and adored his great-grandchildren. Jessie was a man of great faith and longtime member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Waynesville, Missouri. He truly enjoyed attending Sunday School, Sunday Worship, and fellowshipping with others. Jessie was a member of the Masons for many years with membership at the Waynesville Masonic Lodge #375. Jessie entered into eternal rest on July 11, 2022 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Annalou Gordon of Waynesville, MO; daughters: Cristal Dennick and Warren Robertson of Sandoval, IL and Teresa Livengood and husband Mark of Waynesville, MO; grandchildren: Brandon Dennick and Megan of Waynesville, MO, Brittany Dennick of Washington, PA, Kasey Gipperich and husband Robert of Henley, MO, Brook Dennick and Daniel of Paris, MO, and Kelsay Pemberton of Waynesville, MO; great-grandchildren: Justice, Kingston, Luxy, Logan, Preston, Hope, Roman, Timmy, Karson, Rawlyns, and one on the way; extended family and dear friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Jessie Sr. and Anna Gordon and son-in-law: Bruce Dennick. Jessie, known to many as Flash, will be remembered for his kind heart, compassion, generosity, and sweet spirit. He has left behind a great legacy and memories that will be cherished forever. Funeral Services for Jessie Olen Gordon Jr. were held Friday, July 15, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Parker and Pastor Russell Johnson officiating. Special Music was provided by Dana Wood singing “God on the Mountain”, “I Want to Stroll Over Heaven With You”, and “Go Rest High on That Mountain”. Serving as Pallbearers were Brad DeLong, Clinton Peterson, Shannon Medley, Richard Baptiste, Kenton Fritts, and Brian Baker. Honorary Pallbearers were Ronnie Davis and Deanie Wood. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
