John Henry Lamster

September 26, 1940 - February 26, 2021

John “Jack” Henry Lamster was born September 26, 1940 in St. Louis County, Missouri to Henry and Margaret (Matlock) Lamster and passed away February 26, 2021 at his home in Salem, Missouri surrounded by his loving family at the age of eighty years. Jack grew up in the St. Louis area and graduated from Ritenour High School. He was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Zerelda “Zee” Aldean Holt, on February 15, 1986 and together shared thirty-five years of memories. Jack and Zee were blessed to share two daughters: Laura and Lynn and two sons: Michael and David. Jack was a loving husband and caring father; he worked hard to provide for his family. In his early working years, Jack helped his father in the heating and cooling field. He later was employed with General Motors where he worked in the parts division and retired after many years of faithful service. During his lifetime, Jack enjoyed raising cattle and mini goats on his farm. He also bought, remodeled, and sold houses. Jack shared an interest in genealogy with Zee tracing their family tree back many years. He truly valued spending quality time with his wife and went on many evening walks together. Jack’s family was important to him and he treasured the memories they made together. He deeply cherished his grandchildren and adored his great-grandchildren. Jack is survived by his loving wife Zerelda “Zee” Lamster of the home; children: Michael Rapert of Farmington, MO, David Rapert of Florissant, MO, Laura Lamster of Festus, MO, and Lynn Lamster of Festus, MO; grandchildren: Jarod Lamster, Alicia Judd, and Lindsay Dunsford; great-grandchildren: Hartley Kincaid and Olivia Dunsford; extended family and friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Henry and Margaret Lamster; sister: Barbara Eller; and many aunts and uncles. Jack was a man of faith and love, he leaves behind a great legacy for all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for John “Jack” Henry Lamster were held Monday, March 01, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating.
