Joyce Diane (Crouch) Bramblett

January 10, 1955 - January 23, 2020

Joyce Diane (Crouch) Bramblett was born on January 10, 1955 in Salem, Missouri to Linus Edmund Howard and Harriet Ruth (Haas) Crouch and passed away on January 23, 2020 at Salem Memorial District Hospital in Salem, Missouri at the age of sixty-five. Joyce grew up in Salem and graduated with the Class of 1973 from Salem High School. She had a desire for learning and went on to further her education at John Wood Community College, Nazarene Bible College, and North Central Missouri College. Throughout the years, Joyce obtained several associate degrees and certifications. Joyce met her husband, Steve, in 1986 while vacationing in Colorado. The two fell in love and married on October 25, 1986 at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Together they enjoyed thirty-three years of marriage and were blessed to share three daughters: Angela, Ashley, and Stephanie. Joyce loved the Lord with all her heart and was saved at an early age. She was a lifetime member of the Church of the Nazarene and served in many areas. She stepped into the role of pastor’s wife in 1988 when Steve accepted his first church assignment in Vandalia, Missouri. Joyce was blessed with an incredible talent for playing the piano and singing. She especially loved to play and sing with her father and her daughters. She also had a strong passion for world missions and children’s ministries and devoted much of her time to fostering these areas within the church. In addition to being a full-time pastor’s wife and mother, Joyce also worked in the community in various positions. She loved to substitute teach and always considered it a privilege to pour love and encouragement into the children around her. She spent the last 17 years of her career working as the manager at Trenton Abstract and Title Company in Trenton, Missouri. She recently moved back home to Salem to be closer to her family. She worked as a substitute teacher for the local schools and was finishing the process for her real estate license. More than anything, Joyce loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed drinking coffee and shopping with her husband, watching Hallmark movies and laughing with her girls, talking with her dad, and making Christmas cookies with her grandkids. She had a huge heart and was always ready with a listening ear and a comforting hug. Joyce is survived by her loving husband R. Steven Bramblett of the home; three daughters: Angela Christesen-Parker and husband Kelly of Salem, MO; Ashley Peyton and husband Travis of Salem, MO, and Stephanie Bramblett of Rolla, MO; father: Linus E. Crouch of Salem, MO; five grandchildren: Drew, Will, and Luke Christesen, Tanner and Alivia Peyton; three step-grandchildren: Braxton, Kennison, and Slayton Parker; and countless family and friends. Preceding her in death was her mother: Harriet Ruth Crouch. Joyce had a beautiful heart and a soul for Jesus. She will forever be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Joyce Diane (Crouch) Bramblett were held Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Rev. Daren Baldwin officiating.
