Joyce Emma (Conaway) Golden Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joyce Emma (Conaway) Golden was born on December 17, 1943 in Dillard, Missouri. She was one of eight children born to Hollie and Berniece (Bell) Conaway. Joyce grew up and attended school in Dillard, Sligo, and Cherryville. Joyce was united in marriage to the love of her life, David Golden on October 25, 1988 in Steelville, Missouri and together shared thirty-two years of memories before his passing on March 28, 2021. Joyce and David were blessed with four children: Lisa, Wesley, Dean, and Dale. Joyce was a devoted wife and caring mother who took great pride in caring for her family as a homemaker. She loved her family dearly and treasured her family, especially her grandchildren. Joyce and Dave were proud to be proprietors of Boss Tavern. They were able to use their business to help others in the community who were in need, whether it was by holding a fundraiser or lending a helping hand. Joyce enjoyed her "Store Building" in Boss where she proudly displayed antiques, rocks, clocks, and even some of her paintings for sale. She was a collector of all things and loved the adventures it took her on. She could likely be found digging through junk piles and old dumps looking for treasures. Joyce was a "rockhound" and even traveled to the East Coast to dig in mines. In later years, she found pleasure in tumbling the gemstones to a beautiful shine and making jewelry with them. She loved being in the great outdoors and exploring for artifacts. Joyce was certain to have a good time when she was hunting wildlife or mushrooms, fishing or spending time at the lake, or just roaming the woods with her husband. Joyce departed this life on July 6, 2021, in the Salem Memorial District Hospital at the age of seventy-seven years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving children: Lisa Wisdom and husband Barry of Dixon, MO, Wesley Snider of Boss, MO, Dean Golden and wife Natalie of St. James, MO, Dale Golden and wife Elgeana of Cuba, MO; sister: Ruth Ann Henry of Troy, MO; brother: Cleo Conaway of St. Clair; brother-in-law: Noris Gray of Evansville, IN; grandchildren: Roxanna Hock and husband Jory, Tricia Wolfe and husband Terry, Joshua Wisdom and wife Tiffany, Jacob Wisdom, Jeremy Wisdom, James Wisdom, Ryan Golden, Shelby, Austin, Mariah, and Brennan; a host of great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death, her husband: David Golden; parents: Hollie and Berniece (Bell) Conaway; siblings: Geraldine, Janice, Judy, Jerry, and Garry; mother-in-law: Ethel Golden; and sister-in-law: Doris Gray. Joyce was one of a kind and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Joyce Emma (Conaway) Golden were held Monday, July 12, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Adam Asher officiating. Song selections played were “What A Day That Will Be”, “One Day At A Time”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, and “In The Arms Of Angel”. Serving as Pallbearers were Jory Hock, Terry Wolfe, Landen Hock, Wesley Snider, Barry Wisdom, and Nick Myers. Burial was in the Stone Hill Cemetery.
