Juanita "Trudy" Irene (Grogan) Gorman

September 29, 1947 - January 17, 2021

Juanita “Trudy” Irene (Grogan) Gorman was born on September 29, 1947, in Dent County, Missouri to Norman D. and Ola Irene (Holloway) Grogan and passed away on January 17, 2021 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of seventy-three years. Trudy was born and raised on the family farm in Dent County, Missouri; she graduated with the Class of 1965 from Salem High School. At a young age, Trudy met a shy young man and the love of her life, Max Roy Gorman and on May 8, 1965 they were united in marriage. Trudy and Max shared fifty-five wonderful years of marriage and were blessed with two children: Rick and Debbie. Trudy worked in the customer service department at Akers Ferry Campground and Canoe Rental, she was a hard worker who enjoyed her customers for many years. In her free time, she loved to crochet and tend to her roses. Trudy was known for her green thumb and enjoyed spending time outdoors. She liked to travel and never left home without her camera. Trudy was an avid wildlife watcher and loved to photograph them. Trudy was a woman of faith and a friend to so many; she cherished keeping connected with longtime friends and was truly an angel on earth. Trudy had great love for her family and valued their time making memories together. She deeply treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Trudy is survived by her loving husband Max Gorman of Timber, MO; son: Rick “Tiny” Gorman of Timber, MO; daughter: Debbie Piatt and husband Eugene of Timber, MO; sister: Norma Dean Fox; sisters-in-law: Mary Etta Rinne, Christene Livingston, Shirley Moser and husband John, and Nancy James; grandchildren; Leah Anderson, Abrie Enloe and husband Brad, Megan Gorman, Lauren Parker and Billy Mitchell, Taylor Gorman and David Sechrest, Kimberly Gore and husband Jeff, Lillietta Gorman, James Reese and Ambyr King, Jacob Piatt and Stevee Seay, Ethan Piatt and wife Mary, Jon Piatt, and Joanna Piatt and Kyle Akers; great-grandchildren: Madison R, Braxton, Cameron, Amaya, Madison K., Carter, Annie, Mary, Thomas, Lydia, Cameron S., and Little Max; adopted by heart: Rodger, Angie, Faith, and Ava Howie and Leann and Cobin Light, Richard and Amber Cooper, Rolland and Missy Smotherman; special friend: Ida Terrill; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death, parents: Norman and Ola (Holloway) Grogan; brother: Edward Grogan; brothers-in-law: Arnold D. Fox, George Gorman, Rick James, and Bob Rinne; and granddaughter: Brittany Gorman. Trudy will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those she touched with kindness and a warm smile. Funeral Services for Juanita “Trudy” Irene (Grogan) Gorman were held Friday, January 22, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Jeff Fulk and Richard LaBrash officiating. Song Selections played were “Jealous of the Angels”, “The Garden”, “Farther Along”, and “I’ll Carry You Home”. Serving as Pallbearers were Jacob Piatt, Ethan Piatt, Jon Piatt, Brad Enloe, James Reese, Clark Fox, Arnold Fox, and Jeff Gore. Honorary Pallbearers were Richard Cooper, Rolland Smotherman, Roy Light, Eugene Maggard, and Fedil Grogan. Burial was in the Patterson Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Online condolences may be entered at wilsonmortuary.com
