Larry Dean Brown

Larry Dean Brown was born January 22, 1951, in Lebanon, Missouri, to Lawrence “Jack” and Dessie (Delcour) Brown. He grew up in Oakland, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1969 from Lebanon High School. Larry enlisted into the United States Army and served his country faithfully for ten years. During his time in the Military he worked as a Field Artillery Surveyor. For his honorable service, Larry earned many medals, ribbons, badges, and awards to include the National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal. Larry was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Janie Ruth, October 31, 2009, in Laquey, Missouri. Larry and Janie created lasting memories together for the past twelve years. He was blessed with four daughters: Katy, Dee, Betty, and Chairty. Larry was a hard worker and good provider for his family. Throughout the years, he worked at Britzman’s Sawmill and Play Craft Pontoon until his retirement in 2005. Larry taught his children value of hard work, integrity, and honesty. He was a redneck engineer; he could build a solution for any problem and fix anything. Larry invented several things to include a chair for his granddaughter to sit in after major surgery. Larry also created his own game genie and built his own computer. Larry had a heart of gold and was passionate about helping others. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to garden. Larry was a man of faith and attended Moravian Methodist Church. Family was most important to him, he always cherished spending time with them and supporting his grandchildren. His most treasured time were spent with his great-grandchildren. Larry departed this life July 13, 2022 in Columbia, Missouri at the age of seventy-one years. Left behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Janie Brown of Laquey, MO; daughters: Katy Frey and husband Troy of Waynesville, MO, Dee Peterson and husband Mike of Laquey, MO, Betty Butler and husband Dwight of Laquey, MO, and Chairty Ogle and Daniel Sien of Laquey, MO; siblings: Jerry Brown and wife Kathy of Lebanon, MO, Linda Anthony of Lebanon, MO, Colleen Schwartz and husband Eddie of Rolla, MO, and Jackie Brown and wife Debbie of Lebanon, MO; grandchildren: Sean Taylor, Dustin Ogle, Coltin Ogle, Octava Butler, Malorie Butler, Joe Butler, Karly Causey, McKaylee Willis, Dakota Poling, Savanna Poling, Meagan Sien, Hunter Sien, Kayla Forrest, and Robert Frey; many great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Jack and Dessie Brown; sister: Virginia Piercy and husband Marvin; and niece: Krissy Morse. Larry was a devoted family man and a friend to many. He leaves behind a huge void that will never be replaced. Memorial Services for Larry Dean Brown were held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Berean Baptist Church with Pastor John Dinwiddie officiating. Song selections played were “Like A Rock”, “Carry On Wayward Son”, “He Didn’t Have To Be”, and “Stairway To Heaven”. Military Honors was provided by the VFW and Missouri Honors Team.
