Louis Joseph Nothaus Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Louis Joseph Nothaus was born on October 27, 1938 to Louis Anthony and Erna (Schlueter) Nothaus in Salem, Missouri and departed this life on December 27, 2020 at Salem Memorial District Hospital at the age of eighty-two years. Louis grew up in Salem and graduated with the Class of 1956 from Salem High School. He entered the United States Army National Guard and served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge. Louis was a faith filled man and lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a devoted member who liked helping others and being a part of the Knights of Columbus. Louis married his sweetheart, Joeanne Wright on September 24, 1960 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and together shared sixty years of memories. Louis and Joeanne were blessed with three sons, Robert, Richard, and Raymond. Louis was a loving father and great example to everyone around him. Throughout his life, he demonstrated love and kindness through his actions. Louis will be remembered as a hard worker, always willing to share his skills with family, friends, and people he just met. His greatest pleasure was time spent on the family farm, Nothaus Farms, which has been family owned since 1909. Louis truly enjoyed the farming life of hauling hay and livestock; he was owner/operator of Louis J. Nothaus Inc. trucking company. Louis loved spending his time outdoors on the farm, and with family and friends. He was a family-oriented man who cherished their time spent together. He treasured his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the memories they made together. Louis leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife Joeanne Nothaus of the home; two sons: Richard Nothaus and wife Kim of Salem, MO and Raymond Nothaus and wife Lisa of Rolla, MO; one sister: Cecilia Vire of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren: Ashley Haas and husband John of Stilwell, KS, Logan Nothaus of Salem, MO, Chelsie Hubbs and husband Derrick of Salem, MO, Jared Nothaus and wife Morgan of Salem, MO, Brooke Nothaus of Rolla, MO and Ellie Howard and husband Mark of Salem, MO; nine great-grandchildren: Cianna, Emerson, Hudson, Bryce, Beckett, Silas, Claire, Nora, and Lawson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death, son: Robert Nothaus; parents: Louis and Erna Nothaus; and infant sister: Anna Louise Nothaus. Louis was one of a kind and loved by many, his kind heart and contagious smile will never be forgotten. Louis will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Mass for Louis Joseph Nothaus were held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jose Antoney officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Jared Nothaus, Logan Nothaus, Mark Howard, Greg Lough, Richard Nothaus, and Raymond Nothaus. Honorary Pallbearers were Derrick Hubbs, John Haas, Mark Weaver, Wade Sisco, John Strotheide, Loren Wood, and Larry Branson. Burial was in the North Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Louis Joseph Nothaus to the B.
