Lula Faye (Wisdom) Chandler was born on February 14, 1926, in Steelville, Missouri to Treffie and Lily (Giles) Wisdom. Faye was born into a large family of brothers and sisters. As a young girl, she walked the hills of Berryman, Missouri. On November 19, 1941, at the age of fifteen, Faye was united in marriage to the love of her life, Howard Chandler in Steelville, Missouri. Faye and Howard shared sixty-seven years of memories before his passing on February 8, 2008. They were blessed with twelve children: Donald, Harold, Betty, Ronnie, Larry, Kathy, Garry, Terry, Sharon, Timmy, Doris, and Stanley. Faye started her family at a young age, she helped build their home near Crooked Creek and worked hard all her life. Faye, alongside her husband, worked cattle and continued even after his passing. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed cooking big family dinners. Faye cherished the time spent with her family and adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Faye was happiest when she was working with her hands; she loved to quilt and was very talented in her work. Her passion for quilting started as a little girl, Faye took great pride in displaying and showing off her quilts. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time working in her garden. Faye was bold in her faith and love for Jesus Christ. She longtime member of Lighthouse Gospel Tabernacle and truly loved serving and worshiping the Lord, mainly thru the Word and music. She loved to sing, especially with her children. Faye was a true prayer warrior and had a heart for people in need. She was always smiling and had kind words for all she met. Faye departed this life on May 21, 2021, at her home in Viburnum, Missouri at the age of ninety-five years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, loving children: Betty Pryor and husband Darrell of Viburnum, MO, Ronnie Chandler and wife Lynn of Belleview, MO, Larry Chandler and wife Joyce of Belleview, MO; Kathy Bellinger and husband Leroy of Viburnum, MO, Garry Chandler and wife Sheila of Black, MO, Terry Chandler and wife Glenda of Salem, MO; Sharon Hedrick and husband Jess of Viburnum, MO; and Timmy Chandler and wife Melissa of Viburnum, MO; daughter-in-law: Elaine Chandler of Steelville, MO; several brothers and sisters; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Faye is preceded in death by her husband: Howard Chandler; children: Donald Chandler, Cathy Barton, Doris Dunlap and husband Edward; and Stanley Chandler; infant son: Harold; parents: Treffie and Lily Wisdom; and several siblings. Faye was a strong-willed and independent woman who was devoted to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of honor and love for her family. Faye will be forever remembered and deeply missed. Funeral Services for Lula Faye (Wisdom) Chandler were held Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Special Music was provided her loving children. Serving as Pallbearers were Ronnie Chandler, Larry Chandler, Garry Chandler, Terry Chandler, Timmy Chandler, and Leroy Bellinger. Burial was in the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Viburnum, Missouri.
