Marie (Conley) Wingfield

Marie (Conley) Wingfield was born on July 7, 1927, in Dent County, Missouri to Emet and Edna May (Parks) Conley. As a young girl, Marie moved around quite frequently due to her fathers’ employment with the Sawmill. Marie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Elmer “Allen” Wingfield, on December 30, 1950 in Salem, Arkansas. Together they shared forty-one years of memories before his passing on October 2, 1991. Marie and Allen were blessed with three children: Gary, Cathy, and Sharon. Marie’s true calling was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She took great pride in her home, but her greatest joy came from raising her children. Marie was a wonderful cook, especially loved baking and trying new recipes. Marie was happiest when she was working with her hands; she was passionate about sewing and making quilts for her loved ones. Marie enjoyed reading, but most important to her was spending time with her family. Making memories with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren brought her great joy. Marie was of the Pentecostal faith, she accepted Christ in her 70s and was baptized in the river. Marie departed this life on August 27, 2021 in Salem, Missouri at the age of ninety-four years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving children: Gary Wingfield and wife Deborah of San Antonio, TX; Cathy Lewis of Salem, MO, and Sharon Disbrow of Licking, MO; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were, her husband: Allen Wingfield; parents: Emet and Edna Conley; brothers: Ray and Denver; sister: Violet; and sons-in-law: Wes Disbrow and David Lewis. Marie leaves behind a legacy of honor and love for her family. Marie will be forever remembered and deeply missed. Graveside Services for Marie (Conley) Wingfield were held Monday, August 30, 2021 at the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selection played was "Old Rugged Cross". Serving as Pallbearers were Larry Wingfield, Robert Wingfield, Calvin Taylor, Larry Windle, Sam Simmons, and SSGT Coby Botkins. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
