Norma Louesia (Gray) Warden

Norma Louesia (Gray) Warden was born on March 4, 1929, in Dent County, Missouri to William Elijah and Louesia Frances (Schafer) Gray. Norma was one of nine children, she grew up in Darien and attended Upper Parker School. On June 29, 1947, Norma was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bufford Junior Warden. Norma and Junior shared sixty-one years of selfless love and dedication to each other and family before his passing on October 25, 2008. They were blessed with five children: Doran, Willa Kay, Darrell, Treva, and Darin. Norma took great pride in caring for her home and being a devoted wife and mother. She was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed canning vegetables from their garden and putting meals on the table for her family. After raising her family, Norma worked outside the home at Hagale's Factory. However, Norma enjoyed getting the opportunity to babysit whether it was for her own grandchildren or any child needing cared for, as she had a special place in her heart for children. She treasured the role of being a grandmother and had many fond memories of time spent with them. Baking cookies, playing checkers and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were favorites at her house. Norma enjoyed working with her hands and was very talented in her work. She loved to crochet baby blankets and doilies for her family and friends. She enjoyed flowers in her yard as well as her house plants, especially her african violets. Norma also loved feeding and watching the hummingbirds and just enjoying God's creation. Norma was a great role model and dedicated member of Corinth Baptist Church and truly loved serving and worshiping the Lord. She was a sweet, humble, and soft-spoken example of a virtuous woman. Norma departed this life on June 7, 2021, at the Willard Care Center at the age of ninety-two years. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, loving children: Doran Warden and wife Linda "Mazie" of Willard, MO, Willa Kay Davis and husband Edmond of Rolla, MO, Darrell Warden and wife Delores of Salem, MO, Treva Blair of Salem, MO, Darin Warden and wife JoAnn of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Daniel Warden and friend Joanna, Angela Hall and husband Eddie, Rhonda McBride and husband John, Julia Davis, Sheldon Warden and wife Kim, Shannon Warden and wife Guerlene, Elizabeth Joerger and husband Zack, Devon Warden, Janelle Blair and friend Jesse, Theresa Ray and husband Vernon, Keith Mahurin and wife Linda, Kip Mahurin and friend Sherry; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Norma is preceded in death by, husband: Junior Warden; parents: Bill and Louesia Gray; siblings: Ordra, Hershel, Lloyd, Lorse, Ocea, Cledith, Edith, and Erma; son in law: Milford Blair; grandchildren: Stacey Warden, Gail Davis, Lori Warden, and Roger Mahurin. Norma leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. The memories created by her legacy will be remembered and treasured forever. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Norma Louesia (Gray) Warden were held Friday, June 11, 2021 with Bro. Scott Shults officiating. The obituary was read by Janelle Blair and Treva Blair shared a Eulogy. Special Music was provided by Melinda Medlock singing “What A Day That Will Be” and Amazing Grace. Special recording of Norma singing “Oh Glory” was played. Serving as Pallbearers were Daniel Warden, Sheldon Warden, Shannon Warden, Devon Warden, Canyon Warden, and Ian Hall. Honorary Pallbearers were John McBride, Janelle Blair, Megan Coborn, Keith Mahurin, Derik Coborn, and Kip Mahurin. Burial was in the Green Forest Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Norma Warden to Green Forest Cemetery and left at Wilson Mortuary.
