Richard "Rick" Charles Maddox

Richard “Rick” Charles Maddox was born June 14, 1963 in Rolla, Missouri to Bryan Hawkins and Ethelyn Lucille (Halbrook) Maddox and passed away March 17, 2021 at his home in Salem, Missouri at the age of fifty-seven years. Rick grew up in Salem, Missouri and graduated with the Class of 1981 from Salem High School. He was a man of faith and baptized in 1978 at New Harmony Church. Rick was blessed to be the father of one son, Dalton, whom is was very proud of. He truly enjoyed spending time and making memories together. During his working years, Rick worked for Briggs and Stratton, the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and in the construction industry. He did some part-time accounting on the side, filing personal taxes for several years. Rick loved working with his hands and was a natural tinker and builder, he also enjoyed repairing computers. In his spare time, Rick along with his mother, frequently visited resale and antique shops. He was always looking for a piece to add to his collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia, glassware, and antique furniture. Rick is survived by his son: Dalton Maddox of Rolla, MO; sister: Kathy Thomason and husband Jim of Salem, MO; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Bryan and Ethelyn Maddox and brother: Bryan Maddox Jr. Rick was a kindhearted and gentle soul; he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Richard “Rick” Charles Maddox were held Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Billy Miller officiating. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
