On September 17, 1973, Rodney joined the United States Army where he faithfully and honorably served his country. Rodney was united in marriage to Loberta Smith on September 20, 1974 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He enjoyed gardening, fishing with his grandbabies, camping, hunting, and traveling to California and Washington to visit family. His greatest joy was time spent with his family. Rodney was a member of Edgar Springs Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, David and Connie Hutchins. Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Loberta Hutchins of Edgar Springs, MO; two children, Debbie Distler and husband, Matt of Henley, MO, Troy Schultz and wife, Angie of Salem, MO; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Turner and McKensie Peneston; five siblings, David Hutchins of Port Orchard, WA, Margaret Anderson of Auburn, WA, Connie Ratliff of Tulsa, OK, Debbie Hutchins of Gig Harbor, WA, John Hutchins of Auburn, WA; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
