Stanley Ray Barton

Stanley Ray Barton was born August 10, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Ray and Irmaleen (Turner) Barton. He was one of two children and grew up on the family farm in Bixby, Missouri. Stanley graduated in 1967 from Valley of Caledonia High School and furthered his education with Mineral Area College. He served faithfully and honorably in the United States Army for two years. Stanley was united in marriage to Darlene and with this union blessed with two sons: Mark and Greg. He was later blessed with four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Stanley loved his family and created many lasting memories with them. Stanley was a hard worker. In 1968, he started his working career as a journeyman machinist with AMAX Mines for eighteen years, ASARCO for eleven years, and retired from Doe Run Mines after twelve years. He made many lifelong friends during his career and was highly respected by his coworkers for his skills and work ethic. In his younger years, Stanley was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go hunting. His true passion was in investing. He has been playing the stock market since 1987. He liked to share his passion with others and never missed an opportunity to talk about how the market was doing. Stanley was a man of faith and member of the Assembly of God Church in Viburnum. Stanley departed this life February 22, 2024, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years. Those left behind to keep his memory alive include his loving sons: Mark Barton and wife Karla of Davisville, MO and Greg Barton and wife Nancy of Boss, MO; grandchildren: Randy Barton and wife Alison, Breanna Akins, Wyatt Barton and wife Lynnae, and Lexi Westrup and husband Skyler; many great-grandchildren; other relatives and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents: Ray and Irmaleen Barton; sister: Catherine Chandler; and brother-in-law: Donald Chandler. Stanley leaves a lasting legacy of love and devotion. He will be forever missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Stanley Ray Barton were held Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Chandler officiating. Special Music played was “Like A Rock”, “Monsters”, and “Lead Me Home”. Serving as Pallbearers were Wyatt Barton, Skyler Westrup, Payton Chandler, Bill Johnston, Rick Turner, and Hunter Hedrick. Burial was in the Turner Cemetery.
