Verna "Dean" (Moore) Radford

September 12, 1932 - March 7, 2020

Verna Dean (Moore) Radford was born September 12, 1932 in Esther, Missouri to Clarence and Opal (Fleming) Moore and passed away March 7, 2020, at her home at the age of eighty-seven years. Dean was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth L. Radford on February 28, 1951 in Arkansas and together shared twenty-six years of marriage before his passing July 27, 1977 and were blessed with six children: Gary, James, Patricia, Peggy, Steve and Rusty. Dean was a dedicated and loving homemaker whom cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in many ways. She enjoyed spending time outdoors in her rocker watching Viburnum traffic. Dean was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and playing bridge with friends. Dean is survived by two sons: Gary Radford and wife Jeanne of Arnold, MO and James Radford and wife Angel of Navarre, FL; two daughters: Patricia Miller and husband Art of Casa Grande, AZ and Peggy Johnson and husband Roger of Black, MO; five brothers: Jerry Moore and wife Karen of Park Hills, MO, Butch Moore and wife Karen of Pevely, MO, Larry Moore and wife Sherry of Lackland, FL, Richard Moore and wife Star of Lackland, FL, and Howard Moore and wife Kay of Union, MO; twelve grandchildren: Kristy Moss and husband Chris, Becky Anderson, James Radford and wife Bridgette, Michael Radford and wife Jessica, Kenny Radford and wife Samantha, Roxanne Mitchell, Robert Radford and wife Melissa, Jessica Overall and husband Brandon, Sarah Drury and husband Gary, Cassidy Radford, Laura Stemick and husband Chad, Lena Pettus and husband Michael; twenty-three great-grandchildren; extended family and friends. Preceding her in death were, her husband: Kenneth Radford; sons: Steve Radford and Rusty Radford; parents: Clarence and Opal Moore; sisters: Brenda Burns and Shirley Wills; brothers: Donald Moore, Delmar Moore, and Carol Moore. Dean was a sweet lady who will be remembered for her great sense of humor and the smile on her face. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Verna “Dean” (Moore) Radford were held Thursday, March 12, 2020 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace”, “Beyond the Sunset”, and “My Mother’s Eyes”. Serving as Pallbearers were Michael Radford, Kenny Radford, James Radford, Michael Pettus, Gary Drury, Keynen Drury, Tyler Radford, and Trevor Radford. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
