Arnie O'Dell Cook

Arnie O’Dell Cook was born September 17, 1954, in Rolla, Missouri to Lloyd O’Dell and Wilma Liliva (Quick) Cook. He grew up in Salem, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1972 from Salem High School. On May 24, 1975, Arnie was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Shericia Jane Capps. Arnie and Shericia were blessed with forty-seven years of marriage and lasting memories. Arnie was a proud father to his two beautiful daughters: Crystal and Larissa and loved them both with all his heart. Arnie was a hard worker and took great pride in providing for his family. He was a well-known meat cutter for Piggly Wiggly and Town and Country serving the community for seventeen years. He then started working as the warehouse manager with Whitaker Building Supply until his retirement. Arnie was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing at Montauk and Meramec Springs. He had a passion for horses and loved taking care of his yard. He was a handyman and a true jack of all trades. Most important to him was his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Arnie departed this life February 3, 2023 in Salem, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years. He leaves to treasure his memory, his loving wife: Shericia Cook of Salem, MO; daughters: Crystal Cook of Salem, MO and Larissa Brown and husband Jeff of Salem, MO; brother: Bill Cook and wife Sherry of Salem, MO; sister: Cheri Ellens and husband Jon of Nixa, MO; sister-in-law: Michelle Reeves and husband Grant of Richland, MO; brother-in-law: Chris Capps and wife Barb of Alma, MO; grandchildren: Brock, Alexis, and Isabella; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, his parents: Lloyd and Wilma Cook and his brother: Darin Cook. Arnie will be remembered for his joking nature and big heart. He will be missed by those who loved him most but never forgotten. Celebration of Life for Arnie O’Dell Cook was held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Chris Capps officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Arnie Cook to the Lovepack Backpack Program and left at Wilson Mortuary.
