Barbara "Barb" Lynn (Carroll) Evans

Barbara "Barb" Lynn (Carroll) Evans was born on April 14, 1951, in Orange, California, to Robert and Helen (Schumacker) Carroll. During her childhood, her family moved frequently, and she spent much of her youth in Oklahoma before graduating with the Class of 1969 from Chimacum High School in Washington. On February 21, 1976, Barb married the love of her life, Daniel Joseph Evans, in High Ridge, Missouri. Together they shared fifty years of love, laughter, devotion, and countless cherished memories. Their marriage was blessed with four children, who remained the pride and joy of her life. Barb spent many years working in the banking industry as a teller and loan processor. Never one to stop learning, she furthered her education in her fifties and earned certification as an AutoCAD drafter from Vatterott College. She later worked for Whittaker Homes, where she put her skills and determination to good use. An artistic and creative woman, Barb enjoyed a variety of crafts. She was especially talented at molding clay figures, including beloved old-fashioned Santa Clauses, and she also enjoyed sewing, painting, and quilting. Barb loved traveling and camping with her family, creating memories wherever the road led. Among her favorite adventures were spending three consecutive winters in their RV in La Feria, Texas. Known for her ornery spirit, quick wit, and fun-loving personality, Barb brought joy and laughter to those around her. She had a remarkable ability to make people smile. Above all else, she treasured her family. Her grandchildren were her world, and she adored every moment spent with her great-grandchildren. Faith played an important role in Barb's journey. In her thirties, she was baptized at Morse Mill Baptist Church and remained steadfast in her beliefs throughout her life. Barb was a faithful member of Salem First Baptist Church where she attended with her family for the last fourteen years. Barb entered eternal rest on May 30, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years: Dan Evans of Salem, MO; children: Daniel Coulter and wife Jennifer of Salem, MO, Terri Walter and husband John of Cedar Hill, MO, Sarah Welch and husband Jay of Salem, MO, and Tom Evans of Salem, MO; brother: Robert Carroll of Hillsboro, MO; grandchildren: Joshua Coulter, Rylee Coulter, Alicia Coulter, Grace Welch, Trystan Welch and wife Amanda, J.J. Welch, Kyrsten Evans, and Nathan Evans; great-grandchildren: Kane and Violet; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Robert and Helen (Schumacker) Carroll; sisters: Gloria, Sue, Cathy, and Debbie; and great-granddaughter: Anastasia. Barb's legacy of faith, creativity, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the many precious memories she leaves behind. Services were held June 4, 2026, at the Salem First Baptist Church with David Hancock officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Daniel Coulter, Tom Evans, Jay Welch, Trystan Welch, J.J. Welch, Nathan Evans, Josh Coulter, and John Walter. Burial was in the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery, St. James, Missouri. The family was served by Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
