Barbara Jean (McMullin) Wickam

Barbara Jean (McMullin) Wickam sunrise on July 8, 1959, in St. Louis and sunset on June 11, 2026, in Salem at the age of sixty-six years, surrounded by her loving family. Barb was the daughter of Floyd and Alice (Barton) McMullin and was one of seven children. She shared a close and special bond with her siblings throughout her life. On October 29, 2005, she married the love of her life, Ricky Wickam, and together they blended their families into one filled with love, laughter, and devotion. A natural caregiver, Barb dedicated much of her life to helping others. She worked in the medical field as a physical therapy assistant and also cared for countless children as a daycare worker. She especially loved teaching toddlers at I Can Too Learning Center, where her kindness, patience, and nurturing spirit touched many young lives. Barb found joy in life's simple pleasures. She had a true green thumb and loved spending time gardening, tending her greenhouse, and caring for her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed feeding family and friends and was happiest when gathered around a table filled with loved ones. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she treasured making memories with them. Known for her Southern charm, quick wit, and sarcastic sense of humor, Barb never met a stranger and was a friend to many. She was a woman of the Catholic faith whose compassion and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Barb is survived by her loving husband: Rick Wickam of Salem, MO; children: Christina Dawn Nash and special friend of Salem, MO, Bradley Wickam and special friend of Waynesville, MO, and Jessica Parks and husband Kyle of Salem, MO; siblings: Debra Moreland and Bob, Connie Tuttle and Tim, Beth Schelich and Tony, Floyd McMullin and Kelly, Herbert McMullin, Chris Rainwater and Dewayne, and Joe Adamick; grandchildren: Jacob, Sam, Kadee, Jaden, Nicholas, Paul, and Kylie and fiancé DJ; great-grandchildren: Blakelyn, Elijah, and baby Kallie on the way; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death were her son: Eric Holt; parents: Floyd and Alice (Barton) McMullin; and sisters-in-law: Tina McMullin and Vicky Adamick. Barb's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Her family will forever cherish the memories she created and the lessons she taught through her example of caring for others. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. A Rosary Service was held Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Father Antoney Jose Thundathil officiating. A Celebration of Life Service followed with Bro. Tim Tuttle officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were Jacob Ball, Sam Ball, Nicholas Wicham, Paul Parks, and DJ Grossenbacher. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Courtyard Columbarium, Salem, Missouri. The family was served by Wilson Mortuary.
