Beulah "June" (Pruitt) Schafer

Beulah June (Pruitt) Schafer was born June 16, 1930, in Dent County, Missouri to William “Willie” Arthur and Viola “Ola” (Krewson) Pruitt. In her younger years, she grew up in the Lower Parker Community until moving to Darien, Missouri. On August 4, 1949, June was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eugene Schafer. June and Eugene shared together fifty-eight years of memories before his passing April 4, 2008. They were blessed with six children: Billy, Carolyn, Roger, Tammy, Tim, and Tina. June was a dedicated homemaker and took great pride in raising her family and caring for her home. She helped Eugene with the family farm and enjoyed going out and helping check cows. June loved to gather walnuts, pick blackberries, and tend to her garden. She loved to can and preserve her bounty, cooking it for the family and sharing it with others. June liked making memories with her family, vacationing in Branson and going out to eat. Her family was most important to her. She loved her grandchildren, cherished her great-grandchildren, and treasured her great-great-grandchildren. June was a lady of great faith and longtime member of Jadwin Church of Christ. June entered into eternal rest April 18, 2023, in Rolla, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years. Those left to cherish her memory, her loving children: Billy Schafer and wife Sharon, Carolyn Kunkel and husband Leroy, Roger Schafer and wife Patty, Tammy Westerman and husband Joe, Tim Schafer and wife Lynetta, and Tina Camden all of Salem, MO; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; extended family and dear friends. Preceding her in death, loving husband: Eugene Schafer; son-in-law: Paul Camden Jr.; great-grandson: Nathan Hood; parents: Willie and Ola Pruitt; and her siblings: Bernice, Vernon, Virginia, Delbert, Lela, Alta, John, and Roberta. June will be remembered for her kind nature and loving personality. She will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Beulah June (Pruitt) Schafer were held Friday, April 21, 2023, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Aaron Steelman officiating. Song selections played were “Amazing Grace”, “In The Time You Gave Me”, and “Grandma’s Garden”. Serving as Pallbearers were Eric Schafer, Matt Kunkel, Jimmy Schafer, Jenni Gillam, Tracy Schafer, Becki Simmons, Josh Westerman, Jacob Schafer, Amy Baldridge, Klay Camden, Chelsi Abernathy, and Dustin Camden. Honorary Pallbearers were In Loving Memory of Eugene Schafer, Paul Camden Jr., and Nathan Hood. Burial was in the Green Forest Cemetery. Arrangements were under direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of June to Green Forest Cemetery or Miner Cemetery and left at Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
