Charlotte (Langworthy) Norris Crandell

Charlotte (Langworthy) Norris Crandell was born January 17, 1940, in Salem, Missouri, to Andrew Jackson Jr. and Daisy Mae (Cook) Langworthy. She grew up in Salem and attended Salem High School. Charlotte later furthered her education with several college courses. Charlotte was united in marriage on February 11, 1956, to the love of her life, Donald Leroy Norris. They shared together forty-seven years of marriage and lasting memories before his passing March 7, 2003. Charlotte and Don were blessed with three children: Linda, Gary, and Ken. On April 5, 2008, Charlotte married John Edward Crandell at Lake Tealwood in Lenox, Missouri. Charlotte and John shared the last fifteen years together enjoying each other’s company. Charlotte was a talented hairdresser and took great pride in her work. She was the owner/instructor of Salem College of Hairstyling for many years. Charlotte was creative, stylish, dedicated, and loved people. She was determined to be the best hairdresser she could be and loved helping people feel beautiful about themselves. Charlotte’s greatest joy and life’s work was her family. She dedicated so much love, energy, and attention to her grandchildren. She truly valued creating memories that would bind her family together. One of her absolute favorite things to do was to support her grandchildren in their sports, school performances and events. Charlotte loved taking the kids and then grandkids to Branson, Johnson Shut-Ins, and Elephant Rocks. In her younger years, Charlotte liked to bowl and loved line dancing. She really enjoyed crafting around the holidays. Charlotte was a lady of great faith and dedicated member of Salem First Baptist Church. Charlotte entered eternal rest December 27, 2023, in Rolla, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years. Those left behind to treasure her memory include her husband: John Crandell of Rolla, MO; daughter: Linda Scheidemantel and C.H. of Lenox, MO; sons: Gary Norris of Tucson, AZ and Ken Norris and wife Julie of Firestone, CO; brother: Dwain Langworthy of Middletown, OH; grandchildren: Emily Kania and husband Dan, Chase Scheidemantel and wife Taryn, Shaun Norris, Ben Norris, and Kaitlin Norris and husband Fawzy; great-grandchildren: Liberty, Rilynn, Macie, Drew, Cade, Wyatt, Rhett, Alanna, Kaleb, Mace, and Arah; great-great-granddaughter: Layla; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Don Norris, parents: A.J. and Daisy Langworthy; and sisters: Evelyn Schafer and Avella McGuirk. Charlotte leaves a legacy of joy, faith, beauty, laughter, strength, and love. She will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services for Charlotte (Langworthy) Norris Crandell were held Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “Heavenly Father”, “Heading Home”, and “The Lighthouse”. Serving as Pallbearers were Chase Scheidemantel, Dan Kania, Shaun Norris, Liberty Kania, Rilynn Kania, and C.H. Scheidemantel. Burial was in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Charlotte Crandell to Mt. Hermon Cemetery and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
