Cynthia Jane (McMillen) Chilton

Cynthia Jane (McMillen) Chilton was born on September 30, 1975, in Kennett, Missouri, to Larry and Deborah (King) McMillen. She was one of four daughters and shared a special and unbreakable bond with her sisters, a connection filled with love and lifelong memories. Cynthia spent her early years in the Bootheel of Missouri, growing up in Caruthersville before moving to Salem at the age of twelve, where she made her home for the rest of her life. She was first married to Earnest Marchbanks, and together they were blessed with five children: Alex, Cricket, Earnest, Christopher, and Patrick. She later married Larry Chilton, gaining three stepchildren: Carter, Claudia, and Ava, whom she loved as her own. Cynthia was a devoted wife, mother, and “Grams” to her beloved grandchildren. Her family was most important to her, and she treasured every moment shared with them. She found joy in the simple things in life; backroad drives, listening to music, especially Nelly, classic rock, and country, and spending time with those she loved. Cynthia worked for nine years at Casey’s, where many knew her fondly as the “donut girl.” Recently, Cynthia found Christ and was attending House of Prayer Church. Her salvation was evident in the changes that took place in her life, bringing her peace and renewed strength. Known for her strong will and stubborn spirit, she was also a fighter who faced life’s challenges with determination until the very end. With her family by her side, Cynthia was reunited with her infant child and entered her Heavenly Home on May 4, 2026, at the age of fifty years. Cynthia is survived by her loving husband: Larry Chilton of Salem, MO; children: Alex Marchbanks of Salem, MO, Cricket Marchbanks of Salem, MO, Earnest Wesley Marchbanks and wife Daisey of Salem, MO, Christopher Marchbanks of Salem, MO, and Patrick Marchbanks of Salem, MO; stepchildren: Carter Chilton of Salem, MO, Claudia Chilton of Columbia, MO, and Ava Chilton of Galenia, MO; sisters: Angelaina Ayers of Salem, MO, Tammy Dudley of Salem, MO, and Brenna Suhling and husband Chris of Belgrade, MO; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding her in death were an infant child and her parents: Larry and Deborah (King) McMillen. Cynthia will be remembered for her strength, her love of family, and the joy she found in life’s simplest moments. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services were held May 9, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating.
