Darrel Eugene Delmain Sr.

Darrel Eugene Delmain Sr. passed away April 3, 2026, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine. He was born August 29, 1936, in Allenton, Missouri, to Albert and Agnus (Fitzpatrick) Delmain. A lifelong hard worker, Darrel began working at a young age carrying hod and mortar for bricklaying at a concrete plant in Pacific, Missouri. Over the years, he worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation and Wright Tree Service, helping establish right-of-ways for telephone lines. Darrel was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rosalee Kerr, August 21, 1959, in Union, Missouri. They shared sixty-six wonderful years together before her passing November 18, 2025. Darrel and Rosalee were blessed with three children: Darrel Jr., Laura, and Raymond. On November 17, 1959, Darrel enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country faithfully for two years. For his honorable service, he earned several decorations, medals, badges, and awards to include the Marksman (Carbine) Sharpshooter, and Good Conduct Medal. His dedication instilled in him a strong sense of duty and patriotism. Darrel had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, gardening, and camping, especially at Red Bluff, Loggers Lake, and Alley Spring. He was always working on a project, never slowed down, and found joy in staying active. His faith was an important part of his life, and he attended Allenton Heights Baptist Church with his mother. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. Darrel is survived by his children: Darrel Delmain Jr. of Salem, MO, Laura Delmain of Salem, MO, and Raymond Delmain of Union; brother: Bernard “Peewee” Delmain of St. Clair, MO; grandchildren: Dwayne Bell and wife Brooke, TJ Kalter, Josh Delmain, Nikki Tiefenthaler and wife Staci, Rick Kalter and wife Tina, Jennifer Payne, William Likes and partner Sabrina, Raymond Delmain, James Delmain, Jacob Likes, Illaria Ibanez and partner Leo, Nicholas Ibanez, Hailey Roberts, many loved great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his loving wife of sixty-six years: Rosalee (Kerr) Delmain; two infant children; parents: Albert and Agnus (Fitzpatrick) Delmain; siblings: Lola Reider and husband Rollin, Elbert “Buck” Delmain and wife Betty, Leona Elliot and husband Thomas, Ruby White and husband Ernest, Karen Delmain; and his sister-in-law: Ernestine Delmain. Darrel will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his patriotism, his love of the outdoors, and his enduring faith. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Charlie Younger officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Josh Delmain, Rick Kalter, James Delmain, Jacob Likes, Nicholas Ibanez, Levi Delmain, Alexis Delmain, and Ilaria Ibanez. Honorary Pallbearer was Eli Delmain.
