Debbie Sue (Faulkner) Simmons

Debbie Sue (Faulkner) Simmons was born February 1, 1957, in Tacoma, Washington, to John and Myrna (Stacy) Faulkner. At a young age, her family moved to Salem, Missouri where she grew up and graduated from Salem High School. Debbie was united in marriage to Joe Firestine. Although the union was brief, they were blessed with three children: their daughter, Susan, and twin sons, Brian and Darrin. The children later blessed her with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought Debbie great joy. She cherished the memories they made. Debbie enjoyed working in the food service industry. She spent several years working at Pizza Hut and later at Casey’s. In her spare time, she loved listening to Christian music and watching movies. She treasured her cats, was an avid animal lover, and often took in strays. Debbie was a lady of faith; she loved Jesus with all her heart and made sure to share about Him with others. She was kind to everyone, loved to make new friends, and care for animals. Debbie made sure to remember special dates and although she was on a limited income, she took time to find special gifts for birthdays and holidays. She treasured every moment with family. Debbie passed away July 3, 2025, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years. She is survived by her loving children: Susan DuBois and husband Warren of Salem, MO and Darrin Firestine of Licking, MO; brother: Jamie Faulkner and wife LaJoyce of Branson, MO; grandchildren: Triston, Paige, Reagan, Aiden, Garrett, Brandon, and Collin; great-grandchildren: Addi, Ellie, Emma, and Kingston; nieces and nephews: Cheyenne, Haley, Michael, Chris and wife Angel, and Louie Jr.; extended family and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: John and Myrna Faulkner; son: Brian Firestine; sister: Ruthann Richardson and grandson: Kaleb. Her sweet nature impacted the lives of those around her. Although she will forever be missed by those left on earth, she no longer mourns the ones who passed before her. She is reunited with her son, grandson, mom and her Jesus. Celebration of Life for Debbie Sue (Faulkner) Simmons was held Thursday, July 10, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Song selections played were “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “When We All Get To Heaven”. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
