Delores Kay (Stewart) Warden

Delores Kay (Stewart) Warden, one of four daughters born to Clarence and Ruth (Pitts) Stewart, passed away January 21, 2026, at her home in Salem, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of seventy-two years. Delores was born October 26, 1953, in Springfield, Missouri. On February 20, 1970, she was united in marriage to Darrell Nathanial Warden. They were blessed with five children: Sheldon, Shannon, Stacey, Elizabeth, and Devon. Delores and Darrell shared nearly fifty-six years, creating lasting memories together. Delores was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, whose life was centered on caring for those she loved most. A dedicated homemaker, she found her greatest joy in raising her children and building a loving home alongside her beloved husband. When her sons were younger, she was very active in their sporting events and even coached a few seasons. Delores was a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan. She had a deep love for her flowers and houseplants and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. She was rarely still, always keeping herself busy, and always worrying about others above herself. She shared a special bond with her sisters and truly adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delores is survived by her loving husband: Darrell Warden of Salem, MO; children: Sheldon Warden and wife Kim of Salem, MO, Shannon Warden of Salem, MO, Elizabeth Warden and husband Zachary Joerger of Salem, MO, and Devon Warden of Salem, MO; sisters: Janice Young and husband Wilson of Salem, MO, Sharilyn Mendenhall and husband Earl of Cedar Hill, MO, Darla Frazier and Kenny of Salem, MO, and Teresa Putman and husband Marvin of Salem, MO; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her son: Stacey Warden; parents: Clarence and Ruth (Pitts) Stewart; and her daughter-in-law: Lori Warden. Her faith, family, and friends were most important to her. She was saved at an early age and recently rededicated her life. She was stubborn, hardheaded, and independent, but also, loving, caring, kind. Delores will be forever missed by those who loved her most. Funeral Services were held January 23, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Sheldon Warden, Shannon warden, Devon Warden, Canyon Warden, Kendall Smith, Zachary Joerger and In Memory of Stacey Warden. Honorary Pallbearers were Dennis Gray and Logan Stallings. Burial was in the Green Forest Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory Delores Warden and left with Wilson Mortuary.
