Dolores Irene (Brauch) Sutterfield

Dolores Irene (Brauch) Sutterfield was born on August 25, 1937, in Ware, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Bertha (Pigg) Brauch. Dolores grew up and graduated high school in St. Charles County. On August 3, 1984, Dolores married the love of her life, William Howard Sutterfield at First Baptist Church in Ellington, Missouri. Together they shared twenty-four years of happy memories until Howard's passing on August 8, 2008. Throughout her working years, Dolores was employed at the as a as a housemother at the Baptist Children's Home, where she lovingly cared for young people. After she stopped working at the Baptist Children’s Home she worked in banking. Dolores faithfully served alongside her husband during his years in ministry, embracing her role as a pastor's wife with dedication, grace, and a generous spirit. She also enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved visiting Branson and Silver Dollar City, collecting wagon train dolls, and spending time with family and friends. Howard and Dolores would take long walks around their property often. Dolores always sent cards to her family on all occasions and enjoyed doing it. Dolores was a sweet, godly woman whose faith was the foundation of her life. As a devoted member of Salem First Baptist Church, she was known for her kindness, unwavering faith, and genuine love for others. Church was one of the greatest joys and priorities of her life. Dolores entered her Heavenly Home on June 25, 2026, in Ironton, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years. She is survived by her sisters: Eileen Sapaugh of Rolla, MO and Janet Camden of Arkansas; nephews: Glen Sapaugh Jr. and wife Jodie, Shawn Sapaugh and wife Janet, Nick Camden, and Grant Camden and wife Chanda; as well as several great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: William Howard Sutterfield; parents: Ralph and Bertha (Pigg) Brauch; her brother: Alvin Brauch; brother-in-law: Glen Camden; and her nephew: Ryan Camden. Her legacy is one of faithful service, quiet strength, and Christian love. Her life was a testimony to her devotion to the Lord, her family, and her church, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Funeral Services were held June 30, 2026, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Joe Brand officiating. Burial was in the Ellington City Cemetery.
