Emogene Sue (Landers) Welch

Emogene Sue (Landers) Welch was born on November 27, 1967, in Houston, Missouri. She was born to the late Cecil and Imogene (Jackson) Landers. Emogene met her sweetheart and best friend, Tom Welch, while in high school. On August 18, 1985, they were united in marriage. She graduated from Salem High School with the class of 1986. Emogene and Tom were blessed with three children: Brandon, Jacob, and Megan; and further blessed with thirteen adorable grandchildren. She was particularly proud of the accomplishments of all of them. Emogene valued her family above all else. Her grandchildren were her world, and she cherished spending time with them. Emogene working career started with the Village Gallery and Akers Ferry during the summers. Her favorite job was as a cafeteria worker where she loved feeding and seeing the students. Emogene was an extra mom helping raise and touch the lives of several children. When she was younger, Emogene enjoyed wood working and cabinet making. She could often be found in the kitchen cooking and baking. She made the best rolls, and her family loved her chicken and dumplings. Emogene loved tending to her flower beds and reading romance novels. She liked caring for her chickens and collecting anything chicken and roosters. Emogene entered eternal rest on January 8, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family in Salem, Missouri, at the age of fifty-seven years. Those left behind to treasure her memory include loving children: Brandon Welch and wife Diana of Salem, MO; Jacob Welch and wife Ally of Fenton, MO, and Megan Delmain of Salem, MO; husband: Tom Welch of Salem, MO; siblings: Connie Guinn, Annabelle Routh, and Oather Landers; grandchildren: Alexis, Raelyn, Landon, Kynnedi, Alaina, Levi, Connor, Grayson, Charlie, Ian, Ethan, Collin, and Aleeah; as well as a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her parents: Cecil and Imogene Landers; and siblings: Ronald and Esther. Emogene was a lady of faith and attended Walking Faith Ministries. She was a true gem to this world. Her smiling face always beamed, welcoming everyone she met with kindness and warmth. Funeral Services for Emogene Sue (Landers) Welch were held Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Lyndell Decker officiating. Eulogies were shared by Jacob and Raylyn. Song selections played were “Heaven Was Needing A Hero”, “I Can Only Imagine”, and “You Say”. Serving as Pallbearers were Lucas Adams, Joshua Routh, Isaiah Routh, Ryan Reddy, Caden Routh, and Landon Welch. Honorary Pallbearers were Tom Welch, Oather Landers, and Eric Reddy. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
