Eula Mae (Hedrick) Medley

Eula Mae (Hedrick) Dodson Medley, the daughter of Troy Elvie and Geneva Maxine (Asher) Hedrick was born August 22, 1944, in Boss, Missouri. She entered eternal rest June 28, 2025, with her family by her side, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of eighty years. On August 13, 1960, Eula was united in marriage to Morse Dodson, and to this union blessed with three children: Belinda, Joseph, and Tina. Eula and Morse shared thirty-three years of lasting memories together before his passing September 2, 1993. Eula married Winferd Carl Medley on May 20, 1995, and to this union gained three children: Elaine, Carl “Bud”, and Phyllis. Eula and Winferd were blessed with nearly twenty-seven years of memories together before his passing February 5, 2022. Eula was a dedicated homemaker and devoted to her family. She took immense pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Eula thoroughly enjoyed caring for her family, harvesting from her garden, and spending time in the kitchen cooking, baking, and canning. One of her favorite things to do was spend time outdoors. She loved working in her flower beds, porch sitting, and watching the hummingbirds. Making memories with her grandchildren was something she looked forward to, especially her great and great greats. Eula enjoyed the fellowship at Boss Assembly of God Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she displayed love, kindness, and humility. Eula is survived by her loving children: Belinda Martin and husband Ronnie of Boss, MO, Joseph Dodson and wife Beth of Salem, MO, Tina Dodson of Boss, MO, Elaine Bailey of St. Robert, MO, and Phyllis Powers of Davisville, MO, daughter-in-law: Ethel Medley of Bixby, MO; brothers: Elvie Hedrick of Boss, MO and Rev. James J. Hedrick and wife Deborah of Lebanon, MO; grandchildren: Amy McCall and husband Mike, Tasha Martin, Todd Martin and wife Shayla, Kyle Dodson and wife Brandi, Lindsey Light and husband Eric, Sydney Campbell, Kendall Campbell and wife Jessica, Jennifer Barton and husband Danny; Tiffany Fazzino, Bryan Medley, Laurie Reginer, and Diona Curry and husband Justin; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her first husband: Morse Dodson; second husband: Winferd Medley; son: Carl “Bud” Medley; parents: Troy and Geneva (Asher) Hedrick; brother: Edward Dunlap; and great-nephew: John Cole Hedrick. Her family often compared her to Sophia from the Golden Girls. She was feisty, quick-witted, and sarcastic. You never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. Her memory, her love, and her contagious smile will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Funeral Services for Eula Mae (Hedrick) Dodson Medley were held Thursday, July 3, 2025, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Adam Asher officiating. The obituary and eulogy was ready by Christian Hedrick and a poem by Shayla Martin. Serving as Pallbearers were Kyle Dodson, Kendall Campbell, Todd Martin, Seth Falkenrath, John Hedrick, and Jake Hedrick. Burial was in the Boss Cemetery.
