George "David" Miller

George David Miller was born on May 17, 1941. He was one of ten children born to Emory and Beatrice (Gray) Miller. David was born and raised in Dent County, Missouri. David was united in marriage to Zelma and to this union one blessed with one son, Dwayne. David and Zelma shared many years of marriage and memories together before her passing on October 5, 2003. He later met his sweetheart, Carol Ruth (Francis) Callahan, and in August 2004 they were united in marriage. David and Carol shared the last nineteen years alongside each other before her passing October 26, 2023. David was employed as a bus driver with the Oak Hill School R-I District for over thirty years. He loved what he did and touched the lives of many children in Dent County. He was a hard worker and always kept himself busy whether it was feeding his cows or doing mechanical work on vehicles. David was dedicated to his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He cherished his grandchildren and adored his great-grandchildren. David was a man of faith and dedicated member of Fairview Church of Shannon County. David departed this life February 19, 2024, at his home in Salem, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years. Those left behind to treasure his memory include his loving children: Dwayne Miller and wife Melissa of Salem, MO and Pam Taggart of Salem, MO; brother: Calvin Miller and Lu of Bismarck, MO; grandchildren: Curt Miller and Jess, Melissa Callahan, Gabbie Henderickson, and Logan Henderickson and Kenzie; great-grandchildren: Joe, Hannah, Courtney, Emily, Makynna, Nick, Keegan, Enola, Jordan, Jude, Maddy, Brooke, Brent, and one on the way; great-great-grandchild: Wrenley; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his loving wives: Zelma Miller and Carol Miller; parents: Emory and Beatrice Miller; brothers: Graden, James, Lovell, Wayne, Carl, Marvin, and Melvin; and his sister Janice. David enjoyed the simple things in life and loved helping others. His legacy will live on in those who loved him most. He will be forever missed. Funeral Services for George David Miller was held Thursday, February 22, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Jim Privett officiating. Song selections played were “Lead Me Home”, “Grandpa”, “Remember When”, and “Heaven Needed An Angel”. Serving as Pallbearers were Scott Lewis, Johnnie Lewis, Nick Callahan, Logan Henderickson, John Click, and Frank Langford. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
