Ina Marie (Mooney) Reed

Ina Marie (Mooney) Reed was born May 30, 1933, in Dent County, Missouri, to Clellar and Lillie May (Shepherd) Mooney. She graduated in 1951 from Licking High School. After high school, she started working at the International Shoe Factory where she met the love of her life, Bobby Wayne Reed. Marie and Wayne were united in marriage, May 9, 1953, at Rev. Johnny Blackwell’s home with witnesses JC and Joyce Welch. They shared sixty-seven years of lasting memories together before his passing September 18, 2020. Marie and Wayne were blessed with twins: Sherry and Terry. Marie was a hard worker and took great pride in all she did. She worked as a bookkeeper with Craig Distributing and the Production Credit Association. She then started working at the Dent County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher under Sheriff Dorman Gibbs. Marie retired as a bus driver with the Green Forest School District after eighteen years of dedication. After retirement, Marie babysat several children and loved them all as her own. They came to love her as well. She loved being a farmer’s wife where she enjoyed tending to the cattle, tractor rides, and brush hogging. Marie and Wayne always had a big garden and often shared their bounty with others. One of her favorite things to do was spend time with her family at the Current River floating and fishing. They have many fond memories of camping at Montauk State Park. Marie was a proud grandmother of her six beloved grandchildren and ever prouder great-grandmother to her seven cherished great-grandchildren. Her faith in the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a longtime member of Corinth Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving when she could. She liked teaching Sunday School and loved helping with the Bus Ministry alongside Wayne. Marie was a wonderful Christian lady, supporting deacon’s wife, and touched many lives. Marie entered her heavenly home December 5, 2024, at the age of ninety-one years. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children: Sherry Stallings and husband Rick of Salem, MO and Terry Wayne Reed and wife JoAnn of Columbia, MO; siblings: Meta Naramore and husband Oran of Salem, MO, Shirley Jones of Arlington, TX, Barbara Hogan of Salem, MO, and James Mooney of Salem, MO; brother-in-law: Donald Enke of St. James, MO; sisters-in-law: Jessie Schafer of Salem, MO, Carol Lewis of Salem, MO, and Beverly Canaday of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Andrea Long and husband Khiry, Jessica Christiano and husband Nick, Michael Reed and wife Kristen, Andrew Reed, Nathaniel Stallings, and Megan Reed and fiancé Andreas Fuchs; great-grandchildren: Ayden, Harlee, Greyson, Michael, Niko, Jovanni, Charlotte, and Amelia; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding her in death were her husband: Bobby Wayne Reed; parents: Cleller and Lillie (Shepherd) Mooney; infant brother: Cleller Mooney Jr.; siblings: Lloyd Mooney, Floyd Mooney and wife Pat, Mary Lou Richardson and husband Earl, Joyce Harrison and husband Bob, and JoAnn Enke; brothers-in-law: Jack Jones, Gary Paul Hogan, Hershal Jr. Schafer, Howard Canaday, Floyd Lewis, and Vernon Sonny Reed and wife Joann; father and mother-in-law: Winford and Maymie Reed; and half-sisters: Blanche Sewell and husband Leroy, Jewell Abrams and husband Harry, and Esther Schafer and husband Johnny. Marie was a true gem, beautiful inside and out. Her kind, sweet, and caring nature will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her most. She was one of the best and will be deeply missed. Funeral Services for Ina Marie Reed were held Monday, December 9, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Carl Van Vliet officiating. Song selections played were “I’ll Meet You On The Other Side Of Jordan” and “On The Other Side”. Serving as Pallbearers were Nathaniel Stallings. Andrew Reed, Ayden Stallings, Nick Christiano, Khiry Long, and Andreas Fuchs. Honorary Pallbearer was Michael Reed. Burial was in the Green Forest Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Marie Reed to Corinth Baptist Church or Green Forest Cemetery and left with Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
