Jackie "Jack" Gean Land

Jackie “Jack” Gean Land was born March 16, 1950 in Max, Missouri to Ray Lloyd and Dollie Faye (Counts) Land. He grew up in Dent County, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1968 from Salem High School. Jack met his sweetheart, Phyllis Grace Kuelker, on a blind date. They fell in love and on July 15, 1972 were united in marriage. Jack and Phyllis shared fifty years of memories and were blessed with four children: James, Carolyn, Tiffany, and Kimberly. Jack was a hard worker and dedicated employee at the charcoal plant for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed tending to the family farm. Jack raised coon and coyote hunting dogs and loved hunting with them. He was a master gardener and beekeeper. Jack took a lot of pride in how his orchard looked and produced. He truly loved taking care of the trees, garden, and farm. Jack liked getting out and visiting with others, especially at auctions. He was a man of loyalty and integrity who loved his family fiercely. Jack cherished his grandchildren and treasured his great-grandchildren. Most important, Jack was a man of faith, a great father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and a very loving husband. His passion for coon dogs lead him to be a member of the Ozark Mountain Coon Club. Jack entered into eternal rest January 14, 2023 in Salem, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years. He is survived by his loving wife: Phyllis Land of Bunker, MO; daughters: Carolyn Land and significant other Bud Ferguson of Salem, MO, Tiffany Long and husband Ricky of Lenexa, KS, and Kimberly Land and significant other Alex Davault of Dora, MO; brothers: Billy Land and wife Jill of Salem, MO, Ronal Land and wife Elizabeth of Salem, MO, and Dennis Land and wife Tina of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Casey Brand and wife Sheona, Ethan Brand, Aurora Cummings, and Naomi Cummings; great-grandchildren: Shaylee, Katrina, Trevor, Jack, Rebecca, and Killian; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends. Preceding him in death, son: James Land; parents: Ray and Dollie Land; and infant brother: Ray Land. Jack leaves behind a great legacy. He will be forever missed by those who loved him most. Funeral Services for Jackie “Jack” Gean Land were held Thursday, January 19, 2023 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Scott Shults officiating. Song selections played were “Scars In Heaven” and “I Can Only Imagine”. Serving as Pallbearers were Ricky Long, Ethan Brand, Casey Brand, Alex Davault, Michael Land, and Jerry Steelman. Honorary Pallbearers were Dolph Mendenhall and Red Quick. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
