James Lee Hutson

James Lee Hutson was born August 27, 1959, in Rolla, Missouri. He was one of five children born to Paul and Shirley (Asher) Hutson. James grew up in Boss, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1979 from Viburnum High School. While in school, James enjoyed playing baseball and was a brother of the New Mineral Chapter of the Order of DeMolay. James served faithfully and honorably in the United States Army and Army National Guard for several years. He started his working career at the sawmill, then worked for eighteen years with the Husky Corporation, and retired from the Doe Run Battery Plant. James was united in marriage to Regina and shared several lasting memories together before her passing. He was a proud father to his son Joshua and his greatest love was his grandson, Dakota. Being a grandfather held significant importance in his life. James enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved to be in the wood’s deer hunting, by the water fishing, and out riding the side by side. His true joy came from his family, whom he cherished deeply. James departed this life November 17, 2024, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years. He is survived by his loving son: Josh Hutson and fiancé Tori of DeSoto, MO; brother: Steve Hutson of Bunker, MO; sisters: Pamela Hutson of Salem, MO and Anna Hood and husband Bill of Bunker, MO; grandchildren: Dakota, Rowan, Amelia, and Paytin; nieces: Mataya Chronister and spouse Hayden of Bunker, MO and Montana Stacy and Aesa of Rolla, MO; great-nephew: Colten Chronister; extended family and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his wife: Regina Hutson; parents: Paul and Shirley Hutson; and sister: Paula Mae Hutson. James was one of a kind. He will be remembered for his friendly jokes and contagious laugh. He will be forever missed. Funeral Services for James Lee Hutson were held Friday, November 22, 2024, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Adam Asher officiating. Song selections played were “When I Get Where I’m Going”, “Scars In Heaven”, and “Save A Place For Me”. Serving as Pallbearers were Josh Hutson, Hayden Chronister, Aesa Jurany, James Goodman, Adam Decker, and Jimmy Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers were Dakota Hutson, Steve Hutson, Colten Chronister, and Bill Hood. Military Honors was provided by the American Legion Post 99 and United States Army.
