Jerry Eugene Fitzgerald

Jerry Eugene Fitzgerald was born June 1, 1950 in Lenox, Missouri to Lee Mont and Sylvia Marie (Garrison) Fitzgerald and entered into the arms of his Savior October 12, 2021 at his home in Lenox, Missouri at the age of seventy-one years. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, and even going to yard sales. Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends, always sharing a smile and laughter. Jerry became quite the skilled chef, experimenting and cooking new things and trying new recipes. Jerry also enjoyed his relationship with God and lived his later years walking in God’s grace and letting his life be a light for those around him. In March of 1993, Jerry married his perfect partner and love of his life, his wife of twenty-nine years Sandy Day. Jerry was a devoted and caring man who valued and cherished his wife and best friend. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Sandy Fitzgerald of the home; brothers: James Fitzgerald and wife Sandi of Illinois and Leslie Fitzgerald of Doniphan, MO; sister: Clara McDonald and husband Walter of Doniphan, MO; sisters-in-law: Charlotte Fitzgerald of Salem, MO, Juanita Fitzgerald of Doniphan, MO; mother-in-law: Clara Day of Winona, MO; brothers and sisters-in-law: Randy Day and wife Kim of Mt. View, MO, Steve Day and wife Tracy of Birch Tree, MO, Jenny Brawley and husband Bill of Winona, MO, and Charish Day of Salem, MO; blessed and honored to call him uncle are numerous nieces and nephews including three special nieces: Leilani, Carlyssa, and Xceria; other relatives and dear friends. Preceding him in death, parents: Lee Mont and Sylvia Fitzgerald; brothers: Max, Glenn, Leonard, Marion, and Robert; sisters: Lula Gibbs, Ellen Wells, Helen Huffman; and father-in-law: Paul Day. Jerry will be remembered for his contagious smile and kind spirit. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside Services for Jerry Eugene Fitzgerald were held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Tune Cemetery with Monty Huffman officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Nicholas Huffman, Leonard “Bubby” Fitzgerald Jr., Randy Day, Steve Day, Randall Day, and Bobby McHolland. Honorary Pallbearers were his brothers Leslie Fitzgerald and Jim Fitzgerald. The Family was served by Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
