Joyce Eileen (Richter) Blaylock

Joyce Eileen (Richter) Blaylock was born June 28, 1934, in Salem, Missouri to Thomas Franklin and Ethel Leona (Pidcock) Richter. She grew up on the family farm in Salem and has many childhood memories with her parents and siblings growing up. Some of her favorites were riding horses and going to the fair and fishing with her daddy. Joyce was united in marriage to the love of her life, Billy D. Blaylock, December 1, 1951 and to this union blessed with thirteen children: Joyce, Mary, Billie Jean, Deborah, Tom, Connie, Jim, Brenda, John, Liz, Trish, Linda, Jerry, and Angela. Joyce and Billy shared together thirty-two years of memories before his passing in 1983. Joyce was a dedicated homemaker and took great pride in caring for her large family. In her early working years, Joyce worked at the International Shoe Factory and later cared for the elderly. Her greatest joy in life though was raising her children and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Spending time making memories with her family was what she treasured most. Joyce was a collector of many things; she had a room dedicated to her Coke collection. She enjoyed drinking a hot cup of Folgers coffee and eating her Hershey candy bars. Joyce loved having and going to yard sales in and around the community. In her spare time, she liked doing crafts. Joyce had strong faith in the Lord, she accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of seventeen and faithfully served throughout her life. She was a member of Salem Faith Assembly and worked with Faith Missions for twenty years. Joyce went on many mission trips to the Indian Reservations where she spread the love of Jesus to everyone she met. Joyce entered into eternal life November 1, 2022, at her home in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years. Those left behind to cherish her memory, loving children: Mary Hudson of Salem, MO; Billie Jean Boley and husband Johnny of Licking, MO, Connie Wallace and husband Mike of Licking, MO, Brenda Julien of Kansas City, MO, John Blaylock and wife Katelynn Marie of Licking, MO, Liz Major and husband J.D. of Salem, MO, Trish Callahan and husband Darrell of Steelville, MO, Linda Mielke and husband Mike of Florida, Jerry Blaylock and wife Amanda of Edgar Springs, MO, and Angela Harrison and husband John of Salem, MO; daughter-in-law: Lisa Blaylock of Salem, MO; son-in-law: Dusty Stoner of Licking, MO; sister: Ruth McMullin; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death, husband: Bill Blaylock; infant daughter: Deborah Blaylock; sons: Tom Blaylock and Jim Blaylock; daughters: Joyce Ann Stoner; and son-in-law: Truman Hudson; her parents and her siblings. Joyce dedicated her life to her family and always had a place in her heart for babies. She will be remembered for her kindness, friendly nature, and willingness to helping others. Joyce will be forever missed. Funeral Services for Joyce Eileen (Richter) Blaylock were held Monday, November 7, 2022 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Charlie Younger and Jerry Blaylock officiating. Special Music was provided by her family. Additional song selections played were “One Day, When We All Get To Heaven” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”. Serving as Pallbearers were J.T. Harrison, Ryan Blaylock, Travis Callahan, Brandon Major, Michael Mielke, Nicholas Julien, Matt Blaylock, Chris Roach, Mike Wallace, John Harrison, Cody Harrison, Caleb Callahan, Darrell Callahan, Brock Mielke, Jordan Major, Justice Major, and Johnny Boley. Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Blaylock, John Blaylock, Paul Stoner, Jay Stoner, Dan Stoner, Steve Stoner, Billy John Harrison, Truman Hudson Jr., Jesse Mac Hudson, Kermit Lonning, Derek Wallace, Adam Blaylock, Mike Mielke, and J.D.
